National Parks at Night Workshop Series

Biscayne National Park

Biscayne National Park, FL

Kick off 2018 with a Super Blue Moon! Welcome to the land of the forever horizon, where the clear blue waters and big sky envelop you from all directions. With 95% of this park underwater, we’ll use the marine night skies as a beautiful and surreal backdrop to a variety of unique subject matter. Stilt houses, ornamental lighthouses, grounded chug boats, and the many mangroves that protect Biscayne Bay will be just a few of our stops in Biscayne National Park.

National Parks at Night Workshop Series

Nikon is proud to be sponsoring the National Parks at Night workshop series. There are 12 different National Parks at Night workshops taking place in 2018—with each park being visited only once. The instructors: Gabriel Biderman, Tim Cooper, Matt Hill, Lance Keimig and Chris Nicholson have taught a combined 300+ workshops. Each workshop includes lectures, critique and instruction in the parks (unless otherwise noted on the workshop’s website). The instructors will tailor each workhop to the conditions and landscape and topics include Lightpainting, controlling the ratio between ambient and added light, star points, Milky Way exposures, star trails, long exposures and night portraiture.

During the workshops you can expect to develop your own personal vision for night photography and create unique images that have deep personal meaning. Questions are encouraged, as well as curious mind and willingness to take creative risks. We'll help you grow into a new understanding of your capabilities, as well as that of you gear.
