General Trade-in FAQ
We will accept any camera or interchangeable camera lens in working condition—mirrorless, DSLR, SLR, point and shoot, action, film or other. It just has to be working.
You may trade-in one (1) working camera or lens for each eligible Z series product purchased. Multiple trade-ins cannot be applied to a single Z series product purchase.
No. Only eligible Z series cameras and lenses are included in these programs.
There is no “blue book” for used cameras or lenses. However, we endeavor to determine fair trade-in values based on the used camera and lens market.
We will endeavor to send you a quote within 1-2 business days after you submit your information for a quote.
If after inspection Nikon sends you a revised quote with a trade-in value that is less than the amount shown on your original quote, you may within 2 business days after receiving the revised quote return your new Z series product for a full refund. After we receive your return, we will return your trade-in to you.
After we receive and inspect your trade-in, we will issue a refund to the payment method you used to purchase your new Z series product (plus bonus, if applicable). If your trade-in is not in the condition you listed, we will send a revised quote. If your trade-in is not working, it will not be eligible for any trade-in value, and we will send you a revised quote saying there is no trade-in value. You may then return your Z series product within 2 business days to receive a refund, and we will return your trade-in to you.
We estimate that refunds should be issued within 5 business days. Please allow 1-2 billing cycles for the refund to appear on your statement.

Your purchase of an eligible Z series product must be shipped to a valid US address. We cannot accept APO/FPO or PO Boxes for a shipping address.
Unless Nikon reduces the value of your trade-in amount after inspection, we will not be able to return your trade-in camera to you, even if you return your new Z series camera. By shipping the trade-in camera to Nikon, you are accepting the terms and conditions of this program.
Yes. Your product must have shipped to Nikon within 2 weeks of purchase of your new Z product in order to maintain the originally quoted trade-in value.
