Great lens for close and tight spaces
I loved using this lens for much of my photography, especially when I was in tight or confined spaces. I also loved being able to set it to its hyperfocal setting and be able to shoot "hail Mary" style when doing crowd shots and get great results. During my photojournalism days, this was my standard lens. I still long for a lens like this and like how subjects are rendered in the resulting image. Its edge-to-edge sharpness was excellent and without too much distortion. Overall, it's a great lens to have in your bag because it's wide enough to get everybody without losing a lot on the ends or top/bottom. I couldn't have done without it in my daily work!

One of the best I own
I was happy with this lens when I bought it 30+ years ago, and still love it now that I can use it on my new digital Nikon body
