When I click to upgrade the firmware it wants you to download the update for the S3100. If this update is compatible then there aren't any issues. If not then can you please fix the link.

Answer:
Yes, the S3200 can print either the date or the time and date on images. This is enabled by going into the Setup Menu (indicated by a wrench icon) and selecting Print Date. For more details on setting this up see page 55 of the reference section of the S3200 Manual. A copy of the S3200 manual can be downloaded from this address: http://support.nikonusa.com/app/ans...

Answer:
Nikon does not manufacture a waterproof case for the COOLPIX S3200 or any of the other current cameras in the COOLPIX line. You may be able to find a waterproof case made by another manufacturer for this camera via a web search but Nikon cannot offer support or advice on third party products. You would need to get in contact with the manufacturer of the third party equipment for compatibility information with our products.

The following COOLPIX cameras are waterproof up to varying depths without the need for an additional casing:
S30: up to 3m (9.8ft) deep
S31: up to 5m (16.4ft) deep
AW100: up to 10m (33ft) for up to 60 minutes deep
AW110: up to 18m (59ft) for up to 60 minutes deep

Nikon also offers waterproof housings for depths up to 40m (130 ft) for the Nikon 1 line of Cameras:
Nikon J1, J2 cameras: Housing WP-N1
Nikon J3, S1 cameras: Housing WP-N2

I'm taking a digital photography class, and I've been told to find out how to adjust:

1) Aperture
2) Shutter speed
3) ISO
4) Metering mode

The only one I was able to find either on the camera or in the manual was ISO. Any help would be appreciated!

Answer:
The S3200 does not allow you to manually adjust shutter speed, aperture or the metering method. You can find information about the metering and exposure control used in the S3200 on page 15 of the Technical Notes and Index section of the manual.

If you are shooting in a Scene Mode the camera controls all these options based on subject type. Details on each Scene Mode can be found starting on page 39 of the manual.

If you are shooting in Auto Mode the camera adjusts the shutter speed and aperture and you have control over the ISO, White Balance, Autofocus Mode and some other settings. Information on the options that you can change when shooting in Auto Mode starts on page 37 of the S3200 manual.

Of the COOLPIX cameras in Nikon's current lineup the P310, P510, P520 and P7700 offer manual exposure control. All Nikon DSLRs and Nikon1 Cameras allow the user to manually control exposure.

I just bought this camera a few weeks ago, I am trying to use it on vacation. There is a black edge on all my photos, unless I zoom in a great deal. It is horrible. Any ideas on what is causing this or how to fix it?
