OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

Nikon is looking for an experienced Video Editor & Production Specialist who has a wide-ranging passion for all elements of video production. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for the assembly, editing, color grading, sound-mixing, and archiving of short-form videos created to educate and inspire filmmakers and photographers within Nikon’s imaging business, which includes mirrorless cameras, lenses, accessories and software. You will bring new ideas and techniques to our team and our customers, educating both through video creation as well as through live demos and workshops at in-person trade shows, industry events, and internal education initiatives.
This role will be working within the Product Marketing team as part of the Imaging sector and will collaborate cross-functionally with Communications and other teams. The video content created through this role will be used on Nikon channels, including web, social media and in-person events.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Work in a fast-paced environment to organize, optimize, and execute the post-production video deliverables within a pre-planned monthly calendar of Nikon branded video content.
  • Creatively assemble footage from productions into engaging edits for video content ranging from expert interviews to short documentaries, product tutorials, reels, camera demos and event coverage.
  • Sound mix, color correct and color grade video content following picture lock of each edit
  • Occasionally edit audio-first content and adapt existing 16x9 videos into social deliverables
  • Provide internal visibility into the status of deliverables through daily updates in a workflow management tool such as Trello, Monday.com or a similar collaborative organizational tool.
  • Develop templates to increase the efficiency of post-production in frequently used scenarios such as intro titles, lower third templates and standardized motion graphics compositions.
  • Engage with teams and customers to demo and share knowledge about post-production
  • Deeply understand the various social media channels, trends, formats and best practices.
  • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and internal training initiatives.
  • Travel overnight in order to fulfill essential functions and key responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong background in video editing and familiarity with all aspects of post-production
  • Ability to closely follow pre-production documents in the editing of scripted video content
  • Ability to weave unscripted videos into strong narratives that create engaging videos
  • Results and deadline driven with an ability to execute on deliverables in a timely manner
  • Strong proficiency in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro
  • A comfortable knowledge of After Effects and Pro Tools or Audition
  • Comfortable implementing feedback into edits and pivoting on creative if needed
  • Ability to travel up to 25% (includes overnight travel) for trade shows and shoots
  • Ability to work outside of regularly scheduled work hours as needed in order to fulfill duties.

 

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 5 years of video editing experience
  • Experience working as a video editor at an agency, in-house content team, production studio or brand. Some level of experience within a large to mid-sized, global organization.
  • B.A. Film/TV Production or Video Production required

Compensation depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to; knowledge, skills, experience, education and location. The range for this position is $65,000- $91,000 annually.
