MH-61 Battery Charger 2.3 5 4 4
Using MH-61 charger This charger works just fine and there is nothing to complain about. It's fast and reliable. Few words about light indicator: glows (battery not inserted) - charger plugged in, ready to work blinking (battery inserted) - battery recharging glows (battery inserted) - charging is complete, battery is full, ready to be removed flickers (battery inserted) - temperature is outside the designated range or there is a battery malfunction - unplug the charger immediately! March 1, 2012
Easy to use The Nikon MH-61 battery charger seems easy to use. However, I would have liked to have a little more documentation with the product -- for example, an explanation of what the color of the light indicator means. March 27, 2011
This is old school type charger First, I can't believe Nikon didn't already include this with the camera, instead they supplied a charger that connects directly to the camera and then the outlet. And when I travel with this camera I won't want to have to plug the camera into an outlet, I'd rather just plug the battery into the outlet to charge.. Also, I cannot believe Nikon did not have the foresight to include a charger that had extendible outlet prongs instead of going with a separate cord attaching to the charger....more to lose and possibility of mixing up cords and chargers.... Very disappointed in Nikon December 8, 2012
Great package, would like to know what happens when no lights light. I like the review from 'elp'. There is one setting that is not described. What happens when there are NO indicators lit? I happen to have two of these chargers and I always pick up the wrong one. I think this means the power supply inside the unit is dead. Since I can't get into the unit, I can't troubleshoot the power supply. The other unit I give 5 stars to as it does work. This one does not. Forgot how I came across the 'bad' unit, but I am in the process of hacking it appart to see what makes it tick. More later when I find the problem. Probably a 'fuse' that opened when something shorted the output pins. June 29, 2012

Answer:
The Nikon answer is different from their answer for the forum item "What does the blinking yellow light mean?" That answer says that the yellow light blinks when charging and is solid when charging is complete. This answer matches my experience.

Answer:
When charging starts, the charge lamp flashes slowly in green. About four hours and 30 minutes are required to charge a fully exhausted battery. When the battery has been completely charged, the charge lamp turns off.

Answer:
I don't believe it does, mine did not. So an outlet that can accommodate the plug has to be found, which can be a pain. If sold outside the U.S. it should have an adaptor.

The electric outlets in Tanzania are 220-240 volts 50 Hz with 3 rectangular prongs. Can I plug the MH-61 charger directly into a Tanzanian outlet if I have an adapter for the 3 to 2 prongs, or do I need a converter (transformer) to step the voltage down to 120 volts? The charger has written on it: INPUT: 100-240 V with 50/60 Hz written on the back. Does this mean I don't need to convert the voltage to 120V? Thank you. Alice Fagin

Answer:
You will have to use an adaptor for the pin difference but apart from that it will work without other convertors.

This charger says it is 110-220 volts and 50/60 cycle. Does that mean it can plug into a 220 plug directly (with the right adapter of course)? I have a 220-110 converter but can I plug this in to a wall with only the appropriate adapter (American 2 prong to whatever country's two or 3 prong wall adapter for instance without the converter)

Answer:
The AC Adapter uses a dummy battery that goes in the battery chamber. You'll need a battery charger in order to charge the battery.

Charge time is approximately 2 hours. The blinking (not flickering) light in the charger means is charging. When is solid light it means that the battery is fully charge.

Im worried because I dont want damage my baterrys.
