The Coolpix S8100 have included an AC Adapter, like the EH-68P AC adapter, for plugging directly into a wall outlet without the use of a power cord. As with previous chargers, the correct adapter must be acquired for the country traveled to, and fitted to the Nikon AC adapter to allow proper AC connection to the wall outlet.

I purchased this adapter in Italy with the European converter and plug type. Now I am back in the United States and want to take the converter off of the unit to properly charge my camera. However, I cannot find directions on how to do this.

Plug the supplied usb cable into it, connect to camera, plug it in a wall socket and charge away.

Please verify the user's manual of the model of your camera (the model of your camera was not mentioned). Newer models can be charge thru the computer and using the wall charger.
