When shooting nighttime landscapes, use a low ISO (400 or below if possible) while working from a tripod. Open your aperture to F/4 or F/5.6. This will allow you to have a shot full of detail and of good quality. Remember that night shots need a subject, just like day shots.

FILTERS CAN BE USED. The WC-E75A is threaded and takes 77mm filters. I use Nikon's Circular Polarizer II with no problems whatsoever.

Answer:

No, you have to set in camera to allow for the converter an so make sure that it does not zoom and cause damage to the camera zoom workings.
