Key Features

The SC-28 provides full TTL control for Nikon Speedlights when used off camera with Nikon D-SLRs that utilize a TTL hot shoe.

One end slips into the D-SLR's hot shoe and the Speedlight attaches to the  other end, when the Speedlight is used off-camera, on a bracket.
The SC-28 is approx. 9-ft in length and coiled.

SC-28 TTL Coiled Remote Cord 4 5 3 3
reliable This is a simple product that works great. I've tried 3rd party ttl cables in the past and had confusing results, sometimes they misfired, sometimes they fired but at 1/1 power not ttl exposure. This cable is well made, transfers TTL information flawlessly. It works great all the time. August 13, 2010
Did not hold up as well as I thought it would I have used the cord about 4 years, not very heavy use, just on week-ends. It did everything it was supposed to do, but I was surprised when I noticed the outside rubber insulation coming off both ends of the cord where it enters the hot shoe connector and the flash shoe connector. Thought the cord would hold up better than that. June 10, 2011
One small caveat It has reported in online forums that this product may not work with Nissin flashes. I have a Nikkon D5100 and a Nissin 866i mark 2 and they won't work with this cable. February 12, 2014

Answer:
The only difference between the two cords is the SC-29 has the focus assist light build into the end that connects to the camera hot shoe.

Answer:
Yes, you can use the SB-700 on the D90. The main difference between the SC-29 is that has a AF-Assist Illuminator and the SC-28 is an extension of the hot shoe with connectors for the SC-27, SC-19 and 3 pins connectors cables.

Answer:
Your local friendly Nikon dealer should have a 1/4-20 (tripod screw) to accessory shoe adapter, probably in with the lighting bits and pieces.

The terminal for the Remote cord will slips in the hot shoe of the camera and the other end works as a hot shoe for the speedlight. There's no tripod socket or screw.

I have tried to connect another camera (SB800) with SC-27 cable and was hoping for two flashes working in TTL mode, but it does not work in TTL, just in FULL flash power. Any advice?

The "foot" from the flash side of my SC-28 has gone missing. Is it possible to get a replacement without buying a whole new cable? Is there a part number?

Thanks!

Also wondering, is a screw/adapter required to attach the flash and cord to a stroboframe, or will the cord hold flash in place?

Thanks!

Answer:
It should work as long as your flash is Nikon compatible. As for the screw if the frame has a screw on it, which most do, then it will fit with no other attachments required.
