Excellent tool for it's price! Used it on D40 & D5000 - viewfinder picture is clear and sharp and appears much bigger easy to attach DK-21M extends a bit making camera handling a bit easier definetely recommended, price is ok as well worth trying February 2, 2012
Good enough PROS: Bigger image. You can read the data in the viewfinder on baseline CONS: Little eyepiece glass so you need to put your eye very close. Poor eyepiece ergonomic design, it can be fall out. March 11, 2012
It also fits the D5100 I just put this eyepiece on my D5100, and though it does not make a huge difference, it is significant enough to make it well worth the few dollars it costs, and a very welcome upgrade to my D5100. It really helps to focus on long zoom shots. It stands about 1/4 inch further back than the rubber eyepiece that comes on the camera, which is also better; it gets your face off of the monitor screen. And in contrast to what I've read on some reviews from other websites, it does not take away from the area of view of the viewfinder; at least not on the D5100. I can easily see the entire rectangle, and what's inside it, better than without it. It is now a permanent part of my D5100; I will never take it off!!! March 5, 2012
Not worth the Money I purchased one and having to wear glasses does not help at all. To use it had to remove specs and still found that the View Hole was too small. A BIG LET DOWN July 28, 2010
DK-21M on D7000 This eyepiece magnifies what you see by a factor of 1.17x. Meaning, whatever you see in the viewfinder will be magnified by 17%. Unfortunately, the DK-21M viewing hole is a lot SMALLER than the original viewfinder which I find strange because the reason people buy this is to get a bigger, better , crisper and an unobstructed view of the image being composed , eg. like on a D700 upwards. Is this a design flaw? The 17% magnification also obscures some corners of the image in the viewfinder depending on the placement of your eye. I bought it, used it once and now it just sits in my bag. It's an accessory that you might want to skip. Regards from Malaysia :) August 21, 2011

Answer:
The DK-20C is NOT for viewfinder magnification; it is a correctional eyepiece for people who wear glasses. It does not serve the same purpose as the DK-21M; entierely different products, and if you do not need glasses but put it on your camera, you will not be able to focus. However, upon trusting referrals from other Nikon users who said all dx cameras use the same eyepieces (they are interchangeable), I went ahead and ordered a DK-21M for my D5100 last week, and got it today; it fits and works perfectly with the D5100, and is a very welcome upgrade to it's viewfinder; well worth the few dollars I paid for it!!! I will never take it off my camera; it is now a part of my D5100.

Answer:
But the DK-20c is for eyeglass correction; my camera has a diopiter, and I don't wear glasses, anyway. I simply want a magnifier because of the D5100's tiny viewfinder. I don't think you answered correctly; the DK-20c and the DK-21M are not for the same purpose.

Answer:
For DK-21M, it's 1.17X , or in other words, magnifies whatever you see in the viewfinder by 17%. I posted my review on it here. Cheers.

Issues when wearing glasses?

I've heard a wide range of comments from glasses wearers. Some say it cuts off the outer area of the viewfinder. One person said it was great with glasses. Another said that he didn't have to wear his glasses when using the accessory.

Does anyone have any experience with the magnifying eye pieced and glasses?

Answer:
DK-21M gives excellent enlargement of the Nikon D5100 viewfinder. It fits the eyepiece perfectly mechanically without interfering with anything. All of the viewfinder including the finder screen and the LED display is visible at the same time. You must however hold the eyepiece close to your eye. With glasses you will not be able to see the complete viewfinder.
