D2H 4.7 5 3 3
Dependable web workhorse. Not since my Leica days have I developed an emotional attachment to a camera. But, walking into a Washington press conference or onto a motorsports race track without my D2H evokes the same uneasy feeling as leaving home without a wristwatch or wallet. Sure, like my colleagues, I own and use newer Nikon pro bodies, but the D2H is often my "go to" instrument, especially for web work. In fact, with its modest file size yet excellent image quality, the D2H could be sold to pros today as a web specialist camera. Admittedly, the D2H's in-cameras high ISO performance is not up to today's snuff, but, thanks to the excellent noise reduction software now available, I have never found it to be a hindrance in practical use. (Shoot RAW and you'll be happy). As for print work - well, I still submit D2H files to magazine editors and have never received a complaint -- just compliments. If the D2H was good enough for the likes of Sports Illustrated just a few years ago, it's good enough for most anybody today. It's a keeper. August 18, 2011
Excellent sports camera Have covered various relevant sports events and the D2h has been superb in shooting action. April 14, 2011
Rugged, Fast Focus, Durable The D2H was my first of the big Pro Digital SLR's. To date (2011) I am on my third shutter. I still use this body extensively even though I have others. (D2X, D3x, D-700, D-300) I seem to come back to the D2H for sports work. The smaller MB isn't a problem in todays photo-shoped world. April 14, 2011

Award Winner

American Photo - Editor's Choice Award

Calling it “unbelievably responsive,” the editors of American Photo designated the Nikon D2H as an Editor’s Choice for 2004. Besides discussing the D2H’s amazing battery power and ability to shoot a “sizzling 8fps,” the editors also called its magnesium-alloy body “the most comfortable and besthandling we’ve ever used.” The writers were also awed by the D2H’s wireless transmitter capability, calling it the camera’s “biggest innovation.”
