really amazing picture clarity reliable cute and compact, hasslefree oporation, handy. December 15, 2011
Great camera for traveling I travel a lot and needed a good camera to take pictures of the sites. I've had others but decided to splurge on this because of the GPS capability. It takes fantastic day pictures. It is very good at sunrise and sunset. While it can take good pictures at night, you definitely need a tripod or a way to brace the camera. My one major beef is that the GPS takes forever to find out where it is if you go beyond 2 hours. There is no way to tell the camera to keep the location longer than that, so it has to recompute its location. If you travel and bring out the camera at your destination, it can take over 10 minutes to figure out where it is (even in broad open space). Once it does figure out where it is, then the geocoding is wonderful and really helps keep track of your travels, especially if you use iPhoto (or some other program that supports geotagging). Overall a great little camera with excellent picture quality. August 2, 2010

Excellent P6000 Offers Awesome Control! Love this camera. Why? It's compact, easy to use and handle and I can control all my settings like a DSLR. Yes, this baby can do it all without all the bulkiness of a DSLR. At 13.5 Megapixels, this Digital can take CRISP and CLEAR pics and thus far I am not disappointed. I am very happy that this Digital camera has provided me with the opportunity to take some great pics with optimal performance and high resolution pics. I am impressed on all that I can do. Nikon products offer Quality! This item comes with 2 ED elements which helps with help "reduce chromatic aberrations." Also a great point and shoot camera with a large size LCD screen of 2.7 inches! You also have the capability of looking through a view finder, yes a viewfinder in case of your inability to see the LCD screen in bright daylight. Easy to use, Easy and light to carry! A great little Camera that packs a powerful punch in a little package. Thus far, there hasn't been a Nikon product that I've purchased that I haven't liked. This one is simply the best and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Well, gotta go now and take more pics with my Nikon P6000! Awesome item! July 23, 2010
Sad it was discountinued Excellent camera, compact, solid, and robust. Userfriendly and excellent NRW capability. I purchased this camera for its hi-end features in a small package. Macro capability is excellent. I have used the P6000 for +1 year and it is reliable. It meets if not surpass my expectations and works exactly as per NIKON's specifications, add, and sale brochure outline. If I ever lose this camera I would buy another one however I now realize it is discounted... July 23, 2010

In principal .. it gets coordinates from the GPS unit attached to the camera, then saves them within the EXIF info with the pic file storing the location with the pic.
