Who should attend:
Anyone who wants to learn how to take his or her Landscape and Travel digital SLR photography to a higher level, both creatively and technically.
What to Expect:
During this half-day class, learn about the different qualities of light and how to use light to your advantage. Find out what techniques and accessories will help you to create more rewarding travel photographs on your trips and vacations.
TIP: When shooting landscapes at dusk or nighttime, use a tripod and cable release or self-timer so you can slow down the shutter speed to let in more light. This is the technique used when you see pictures of car lights as lines, not pinpoints.
Topics will include:
Qualities of light—range, size, direction and color of light and how they can all affect your image
Controlling and modifying light for better photographs
Dynamic range and using Polarizing and Neutral Density filters
Composition “rules”, using depth of field and different lenses for more creative images
How to travel successfully as a photographer—planning for a trip and what to pack
Spice up your travel photos with Night Photography, High Dynamic Range photography, Light Painting, Time-lapse and more
Telling a story—what types of things can you photograph while traveling to make your story complete
