Extend Your Reach with Nikon 1 Cameras and the FT-1 Mount Adapter

Use your favorite F-mount NIKKOR lenses on a Nikon 1 camera

The Nikon 1 FT-1 mount adapter allows you to use certain F-Mount NIKKOR lenses—those designed for use with Nikon D-SLR/SLR cameras—on the smaller, more compact Nikon 1 cameras.

To use the mount adapter, simply attach it to the Nikon 1 camera and then attach your favorite F-Mount NIKKOR lens to the adapter. The FT-1 will increases the angle of view of your lens by 2.7 times, so you get an angle of view equivalent to that of a super telephoto lens when a telephoto lens is used.

For example, when using a 300mm lens with the FT-1 mount adapter, the equivalent angle of view becomes that of an 810mm super telephoto lens, with no loss of light. A 70-200mm f/2.8 lens becomes an incredible 189-540mm f/2.8 (effective)!.

Over 65 of your favorite NIKKOR lenses are supported by the FT-1 including ultra-wide and wide angle and telephoto zooms, prime lenses, Micro-NIKKOR and PC-E lenses.

Added Benefits to using the FT-1:

  • The increased telephoto reach of the 2.7x crop factor.

  • No loss of light when using the FT-1, so if you're using a 300mm f/2.8 lens, it now becomes an 810mm f/2.8 lens.

  • Take full advantage of the Nikon 1’s high-speed continuous shooting of up to 60 fps when using the FT-1 and compatible AF-S NIKKOR lenses.
