Nikon Product Registration Sweepstakes SWEEPSTAKES OFFICIAL RULES

ELIGIBILITY: The Nikon Product Registration Sweepstakes ("Sweepstakes") is open to all legal residents
of the 50 United States and D.C. who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry. You may not
enter the Sweepstakes if you reside in an area where it is prohibited, regulated or taxed (other than any
income or withholding taxes that relate to receipt of prizes). Employees, officers and directors of Nikon
Inc. ("Nikon"), its affiliates and subsidiaries, and Nikon’s advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies,
legal advisors as well as the immediate family members and persons living in the same household of any
of the foregoing are not eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes. Void wherever prohibited by law.
DESCRIPTION OF SWEEPSTAKES: One (1) monthly prize winner will be chosen for each calendar
month (for example, January) of the Sweepstakes period.
HOW TO ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES:
To enter, 1) online, visit the Nikon product registration website (Nikonusa.com/registration) and follow the
instructions to complete the online product registration form giving your name, postal address, e-mail
address, model purchased, purchase date and serial number and click on “submit”; or 2) type or neatly
print on an 8 ½” by 11” sheet of paper your name, postal address, city, state, zip code, phone number
and e-mail address (e-mail address optional) and postally mail the sheet of paper in an envelope with first
class postage affixed to: Product Registration Sweepstakes, Nikon Inc., 1300 Walt Whitman Road,
Melville, New York 11747. Participants are entered once they submit their online product registration
form or upon Nikon’s receipt of their postally mailed entry. For the period beginning January 1, 2008 and
ending September 30, 2008, postally mailed entries must indicate the submission month (for example,
January, 2008), and must be postmarked by September 30, 2008 and received by October 5, 2008. For
the period beginning October 1, 2008 and ending April 30, 2009, postally mailed entries must be
postmarked by the last day of the relevant month and received within five (5) days after the postmark
date. Sweepstakes begins at 8:00 a.m. (ET) on January 1, 2008 and ends at 8:00 a.m. (ET) on April 30,
2009. Each participant may enter once during each month. A participant’s first entry will be such
participant’s only eligible entry in the event of such participant’s multiple entries during the month. No
automatically generated entries will be accepted. Nikon is not responsible for error, omission, interruption,
deletion, defect or delay in operations or transmission; theft or destruction or unauthorized access or
alterations of entry materials, computer transmissions or for technical telephone equipment, electronic,
hardware or software, network, Internet or computer malfunctions of any kind; or inaccurate transmission
of, or failure to receive entry information on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the
Internet or at any website or any combination thereof; or for late, stolen, lost, incomplete or illegible
postally mailed entries.
All entries submitted are final. Submitted materials cannot be returned. All entries become the property of
Nikon. Nikon is not responsible for the loss or damage of any entry. All participants acknowledge the
right of Nikon to use their entries for exhibition, electronic dissemination, on-line promotion and
publication by Nikon.
WINNER SELECTION: One (1) winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries received by
Nikon with respect to each month during the Sweepstakes period. The random drawings for each month
during the period beginning January 1, 2008 and ending September 30, 2008 will be held on or about
October 15, 2008 from all eligible entries received by Nikon for the relevant month. For the period
beginning October 1, 2008 and ending April 30, 2009, the random drawings will be held on or about the
tenth (10th) day of each month from all eligible entries received by Nikon during the immediately preceding
month. There will be a total of sixteen (16) prize winners. Participants are eligible to win the
Sweepstakes once only. Winners will be announced on the Nikon http://www.nikonusa.com/registration/contest/rules.html website within four weeks after selection. Winners
will be notified by email, and/or by phone, within three weeks following the drawing dates. A purchase will
not improve your chances of winning. The Sweepstakes will be held under the supervision of Nikon
whose decisions are final and binding. Odds of winning the Sweepstakes depend on the total number of
eligible entries for the relevant month during the Sweepstakes period. Nikon shall have no liability for any
winner notification that is lost, intercepted or not received by the potential winner for any reason. Winners
will be required to execute and return to Nikon within ten days following attempted notification an affidavit
of eligibility/release of liability, and where lawful, a publicity release. By accepting and/or using a prize,
each winner agrees to the use by Nikon of his/her name, city and state of residence, voice, image and/or
likeness for the purpose of advertising, trade and/or promotion without further compensation, unless
prohibited by law.
Winners may be required to provide Nikon with their Social Security number and prepare certain tax
forms prior to receiving the prize award. Failure to comply with all of the above requirements may result in
disqualification of the Sweepstakes winner and selection of an alternate winner.
PRIZES: Each monthly winner will be given the opportunity to receive a Nikon product(s) having a value of up to $1,000.00 selected from Nikon’s then-current Full Line Product Guide. The value of selected products will be determined by Nikon’s estimated street price at the time of selection. Product selections must be identified in writing to Nikon within ten days following attempted notification of winner. All products are subject to availability. Winner may be required to select an alternate product. Winner may select multiple products with a combined value of up to $1,000.00. Selected product must have a value of $1,000.00 or less; winner cannot choose a product with a value exceeding $1,000.00 and pay the difference. Product selection not totaling $1,000.00 is not eligible for cash reimbursement or any other compensation or credit. Winners may not substitute, transfer or assign any prize won. All taxes on prizes are the responsibility of the winners. Nikon reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value at any time at our sole discretion. The approximate retail value of each prize is up to $1,000.00. Except for Nikon’s written limited warranty, if any, included with the product(s), all prizes will be awarded “as-is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied, of any kind.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: The Sweepstakes is governed by these Official Rules, which are subject to
change without notice in the sole discretion of Nikon. Please check this space regularly for any changes
in these Official Rules. By entering, participants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by
the decisions of Nikon, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to the Sweepstakes. The
Sweepstakes is subject to all federal, state and local laws. By entering, participants release and agree to
indemnify and hold harmless Nikon, its affiliates and subsidiaries, and the successors, assignees,
licensees, legal representatives, officers, directors, employees and agents of all of the foregoing from and
against any and all claims, actions, liabilities, injuries, losses, damages, costs and expenses (including
without limitation, reasonable attorney’s fees) of any kind whatsoever arising or resulting, in whole or in
part, from participation in this Sweepstakes or the receipt and use of any prize. By participating in this
Sweepstakes, you may periodically receive announcements from Nikon.
INTERNET: If for any reason the Internet portion of the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as
planned due to infection by computer virus, bugs and/or tampering; to unauthorized intervention, fraud,
technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Nikon that corrupt or affect the
administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Nikon reserves the
right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel,
terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. In such event, the winners, if any, will be selected from
all eligible entries received up to the time of cancellation, termination or suspension.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A PARTICIPANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE NIKON
PRODUCT REGISTRATION WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE
SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE
MADE, NIKON RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PARTICIPANT TO
THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
