Camera Tips: Using the Multi Selector Center Button Controls

Using the Multi Selector Center Button controls. - The Multi Selector Center Button on select Nikon DSLRs can be configured for different actions when in viewfinder photography, playback and live view.

Customize your camera for increased comfort and versatility when shooting and reviewing images and video. The Multi Selector Center Button on the D4S and select Nikon DSLRs can be configured for different actions when in viewfinder photography, playback and live view. When in playback mode, a helpful option is to configure it so that pressing the center button toggles between zooming into the image to check for sharpness and zooming back out to your regular view.

You can toggle between full-frame or thumbnail playback and playback zoom. Choose your initial zoom setting from a low of 50%, 1:1 (100%) or high of 200%. The zoom display will center on the active focus point if you shot the photo using the viewfinder or the center of the image if you used live view. Check your camera’s user’s manual for details on the various options and how to specifically set-up your camera to use this feature.
