Mom's Night Out is a new Nikon School program designed for moms on the go, family historians, online sharers, scrapbookers—okay, dads are welcome, too. Professional photographer and mom Tamara Lackey shares tips, tips and more tips on making better photos with any type of camera, from point and shoot through D-SLR. Conveniently scheduled midweek in the evening, this three hour class gives you a chance to sit back and enjoy a night of fun and learning and even a cup of coffee. Bring a friend and save!

Get tricks and insider tips for taking better photos and videos in your everyday life, on special occasions or at family sporting events with just about any type of digital camera in this fun evening Nikon School class. Learn how to take beautiful portraits and group shots at home or out in the world, how to capture family sports and action, how to record video moments and then how to share the amazing shots and videos you take.

Note: While bringing a camera is not required, many people find it helpful.

Mom's Night Out was designed with a parent’s schedule in mind. The three-hour class is held midweek starting at 6:30PM. The instructor is a professional photographer and a mom who will simplify your picture taking, while making it a fun and exciting experience. Nikon School Tip: Perspective Change

When photographing kids, get down on their level so you can see the world the way they do instead of standing above them and pointing downwards. The perspective change will add a different feel to your pictures.

Instructor Bio: Tamara Lackey

Tamara Lackey is a portrait photographer whose work has been described as "expressive, soulful, funny, beautiful" and has appeared in such publications as O Magazine, Men's Journal and Parenting Magazine. Her imagery has also been showcased on ABC's The Martha Stewart Show, ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and NBC's The Today Show. When not shooting, Tamara is writing about and teaching photography, business and work/life balance at workshops and conferences around the world. She is also the founder of www.AllInOneLife.com, a website dedicated to creative entrepreneurs who are bringing together family, work, and the most meaningful aspects of their life.

Nikon School Cancellation Policy

Mom's Night Out Class:
Individual Registration - registration cancellations are eligible for a full refund if Nikon receives a written cancellation request at least five business days prior to the Nikon School date. If canceling within five business days of the scheduled Nikon School, a $25.00 (per ticket) transaction fee will be applied. Name substitutions will be accepted at no additional charge up until 24 hours from the scheduled Nikon School. To submit your cancellation request, please email: nikonschool@nikon.net or mail to: Nikon School, 1300 Walt Whitman Road, Melville, NY 11747. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS AFTER THAT TIME.
Bring a Friend Package - registration cancellations are eligible for a full refund if Nikon receives a written cancellation request at least five business days prior to the Nikon School date on both tickets. If requesting a cancellation on one ticket at least five business days prior to the Nikon School date, the 2nd ticket will revert to a full priced registration and the remaining paid will be refunded. If canceling both tickets within five business days of the scheduled Nikon School, a $25.00 (per ticket) transaction fee will be applied. Name substitutions will be accepted at no additional charge up until 24 hours from the scheduled Nikon School.
