Problem with iPad/iPhone Disconnects fixed? Like others I have experienced disconnects with IOS devices. If you are having this issue try putting the IOS device into "airplane mode" and enable wi-fi only. This both speeds the downloads up and makes the transfer much more reliable. January 16, 2014
Super Slick WiFi Adapter I just bought the WU-1a wireless mobile adapter for my D7100. Easy to set-up and it worked the first time. I have used this WiFi adapter to move pictures to my cell phone with no issues; JPEG, Large Normal, files - so they are big files. Also switched to camera control mode using my Motorola Droid Razr Maxx cell. Again no issues in operating the camera and transfer of files. Love the fact that after you take a picture it automatically downloads to my cell. This is so slick being able to use my cell to see the image and to trip the shutter. Really great and fun and I have not downloaded the online instructions. I love this unit and don't have any concerns in recommending this accessory. One comment on price, at $55 it's a lot of money. It only cost me $3.12 after my gift card. Highly recommended. November 5, 2013
Remove old photos, Move app to sim. At first I had issues with the product until I truly understood the issue. This product attaches to a very high end camera. The said camera D7100 takes huge, nice, brilliant pics. The application will not open if it can not find enough disk space to view the camera's contents, which are also stored on the phone. I did the following. 1. Moved Photos to my IMAC. 2. Deleted the photos from my phone. 3. Moved the app to the SIM. I am running the APP on a BLU (Galaxy knockoff). If it works on this phone it will work on anything. Good Luck. Silk April 23, 2013
This changes everything! Pictures used to stay stuck in my camera until I could download them into my laptop. Now, within seconds, they are transmitted effortlessly into my iphone 5. Thanks so much for a great feature. February 19, 2013
quick en fun to share sooooo happy te have this. Love it. Quickly share my pictures with family and friends. February 18, 2013

I'm usng an iPhone. The app downloads the pictures from the camera fine, but I can't send them via email because the wifi is linked to the camera and not to 3G/Wifi with internet. I have to turn off wifi or select a different wifi network before being able to send a picture. This is faffy when I need to take pictures and send them back quickly and take more to send them back.

Answer:
When the WU-1a is plug into the camera and turned on, the camera creates it own wifi-hot spot which you connect to using the iphone. The camera cannot use your 3G data or internet connection, and Wi-FI does neccessarly means connection to the internet. It simply means two electronic devices exchanging data wirelessly.

Pictures cannot be sent from the iPhone to the internet while the iPhone is still connected to the camera Wi-Fi Network. I do not think Iphones have the ability to be connected to more than one wireless network at a time. You will need to disconnect from the camera network, and reconnect your phone to the internet in other to sent pictures..

Answer:
The RF output is not among the published specifications for the WU-1A wireless mobile adapter. However, the adapter complies with FCC/IC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment and meets the FCC radio frequency (RF) Exposure Guidelines in Supplement C to OET65 and RSS-102 of the IC radio frequency (RF) Exposure rules. This equipment has very low levels of RF energy that are deemed to comply without testing of specific absorption ratio (SAR).

Is depends on which camera you are using. If you are using the WU-1A adapter in Coolpix A, D3200, P330, or P520, the adapter light blinks when you turn the camera on. On the D5200, and D7100, the adapter can be enable from the setup menu.

I do social media for rock bands and need to be able to upload pictures to their Facebook Pages from my iPhone 4S running iOS 6.1.3. When using my Xoom Tablet (Android) I can select the Facebook Pages app and upload to any/all pages that I manage :). BUT when I am using my iPhone, uploading to Facebook Pages is NOT an option :(. I have FB Pages installed on my iPhone, it just doesn't come up as an option for me to select when sharing photos using the WMU software. The workaround when using iOS is to upload to my own personal Facebook wall or to select "open in another app" and upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive then download it to my phone THEN share which is time consuming. How do I upload directly to the Facebook Pages that I admin using WMU on my iPhone?

Answer:
The WMU uses the Facebook account settings that you enter in your iOS settings. You would need to change the Facebook account in your iOS settings to your business account in order to upload to that account through the WMU. An alternative would be to upload from your camera to your iPhone's camera roll using the WMU. After uploading the images to your camera roll you can upload the pictures from the camera roll to Facebook.

The WU-1A wireless adapter will gave you the capability to transfer pictures from the Camera to a smart device such as an IPAD, IPHONE, ANDROID TABLET/PHONE. The WU-1A wireless adapter will not connect to your computer or a router. You do not need an Ip Address or a Port number to use the WU-1A wireless adapter.

Answer:
Neither Timelapse nor interval time mode can be setup remotely from a smart device via the WU-1A wireless adapter. For more information about how the WU-A or WU-1B wireless adapters work, please check the link below.

I cannot be the only photographer that needs support for a Windows Phone. Are you at least working on it? Also, someone at Nikon might want to pair up with a phone manufacturer. Though it does not compare to an SLR, I picked Nokia, as they are the best for a phone camera.
