Nikon 1 J3
Great Buy! Love this camera
I am by no means a professional or experienced photographer, however I've recently began to take my photography much more seriously. This camera was a HUGE upgrade from my last Nikon Coolpix digital camera, and it is absolutely worth every dollar. It has fantastic features like Best Moment Capture which is great for capturing group shots or action shots, and also Continuous Shooting Mode. It has really great automatic settings for inexperienced people, but also gives you the options and freedom to adjust settings manually for more advanced photographers that know what they're doing. I have the 10-30mm lens. I wish that it had the option for manual focus but the auto focus is really convenient and fast. I love that the camera body is not bulky or heavy like a DSLR. but the weight and bulk also depends on the lens you get. LCD screen is big and beautiful. Pictures in low lighting are pretty good. Only downside to this camera is battery life is short if you have the camera with you all day or especially if you are taking video. But a simple solution to this issue is to buy an extra battery on ebay (which Is what I did.) Overall I am really REALLY happy with this camera.

Great things do come in small packages
I have been using professional camera's for over 7 years now, including Caanon with top of the line lens, and I have to say this Nikon 1 is AMAZINg a lot of camera for your buck. I ws shocked at the quality, simplicity of this camera. I feel it can do the same if not more than a lot of the high end cameras without having to switch out your lens constantly, calibrate lighting etc... During a photo shoot your client expects a large high end camera while you are shooting. To pull out this little camera they wouldn't understand that they are going to get amazing photos. But I love this camera, I again was amazed and shocked what this little guy could do. It seriously can out preform some of the top of the line cameras. I do like the V2 as well, especially if you are doing a shoot, it just makes the client feel they are getting a better shoot but do not realize that it isn't the size of the camera that makes a great photographer or a great photo in the end. I have the J1, J3 and the V3 and again I will use my top of the line camera's but always slip the Nikon V1 in because I know I am going to get amazing photos fro it. I think my only complaint is the kit does not have all 3 lens in it. I understand the 10-100 does it all without having to switch them out. But I like having several lens only because things happen...You should never just have one lens if possible. So I feel that the kit should include at least the 10-30 lens. But again, overall this little guy is amazing. My daughter is a professional model, vlogger and photographer as well. She keeps taking one of my top of the line cameras which I paid 3,--- for the body alone and it drives me crazy. But once she tried this out, she no longer is taking my "top of the line camera gear" Along with the quality of this camera and teh price, if something should happen, it is not like you spent #3,000 for the body of a camera so replacing it is not that much of a hardship and I don't mind other people using the camera either. I also don't need to lug around 5 cameras and 10 lens with me. I do have 4 cameras I use now all the time and included is the Nikon V1 both the J3 and the V2. I always have 1 to 2 cameras in video mode during a shoot because it is amazing what you can pull from the video frames with the right software. So 2 thumbs up with the Nikon 1 series look froward to what you will keep coming up with and I will definitely keep buying them. I ended up purchasing this for her for this years christmas so now I can get back all my other photography equipment She is a very, very picker when it comes to cameras and the quality so that says a lot! about this camera as well.

Apenas me acabo de comprar la camara y funciona excelentemente. Le saco 10 a todo, no manches hasta tiene Slow Motion como en los partidos de furbol. Los videos se equiparan a grabar Blu Ray.
No dudes en comprarla

Great Semi-Pro Camera!
This camera is awesome! For those who dont know how to set up ISO shutter speed and stuff like that the auto mode is great! this camera's flash is actually really good! it doesnt make everything white with dark backgrounds. Definately worth the buy. One thing though... The 10-100 lens is SOOO big that when at the lowest zoom position it casts a round shadow on the lower part of the shot when you use flash. if you zoom in a bit it does show anymore but you have to stand back.

Love the camera, but...
I purchased the J3 to replace a P&S I had that got the LCD ruined.
The J3 takes great photos for the most part. There can be quite a bit of grain at higher ISOs, and sometimes the results are muddy in low-light situations, no matter how you tweak the settings (I've noticed this mostly in sunrise/sunset photos where flash is not used.)
My main complaint is that the bulb function is unusable. There is no radio/optical remote function. The only option for a remote is the WU-1b wireless adapter. While this gets you connected to a smart phone or tablet pretty reliably (at least it does for me), the WMUA software completely ignores any settings you made in the camera and goes pretty much full auto. It even ignores the camera being set for manual focus. What this means for the bulb setting is that there is no remote. Once you tap the picture button in WMUA, it takes the picture at the shutter speed it has determined, and you have no control over when the shutter closes again.
I knew the basic limits of the camera when I purchased it - no hot shoe for off-camera flash, limited number of lenses, no exterior controls for some of the important bits, etc - but I did expect the features that were there to be usable. Bulb mode is not usable if you have to hold the button down to get an exposure longer than 30sec and introduce a substantial amount of camera shake.
Also, I don't understand why pressing the right side of the circle control doesn't let you go over to ISO in addition to shutter and aperture rather than having to dig through a menu. Seeing as how those three controls are the most important ones for controlling exposure, it seems like that would be an easy enough bit of firmware to implement. Just about everything else I set and forget so going into a menu every once in a while to adjust it isn't a big deal, but frequently and repeatedly going into a menu to find the right ISO setting for the situation is kind of a hassle.
So, I do recommend this camera overall, I love taking pictures with it, but there are some caveats as to its overall functionality.
