An anti-reflective coating developed by Nikon that virtually eliminates internal lens element reflections across a wide range of wavelengths. Nano Crystal Coat solves ghost effects caused by red light and effectively reduces ghost and flare caused by light entering the lens diagonally.

an great asset to the series 1 line ! a must for nature and sports! I have been using non-native lenses with the FT1 adapter, this 70-300mm CX blows all other X0-300mm lenses completely ! much sharper, excellent flare and purple fringe control. The ability to use to the full potential the 1 series cameras is a plus, the speed of focus and the VR are just awesome. Do I sound happy? of course I am. Price is high but it is worth it. If you are looking for reach (800mm reach) there is NO OTHER OPTION out there, well built, small. July 22, 2014

I have a Nikon V1 camera that I currently use with the lens adaptor unit and use existing Nikon zoom lens I have. Don't want to spend the $ on this lens if there is no advantage to the new lens but would like your input on this. I know that weight is an advantage but what else?

touching up focusing on the Nikon 1 70-300 lens

Can the focus be touched up after the Nikon 1 70-300 lens auto-focuses (as on AFS lenses) via the lens barrel? For example, when photographing a bird in heavy brush the camera may focus on the brush rather than the bird. Short of switching to manual focus on the camera (in this case a V1), is there a way to adjust the focus.

Answer:
If the focus ring works the same way as my V2+32mm, then yes. Even when MF isn't selected, rotating the focus ring automatically magnifies the image and gives you a focus distance indicator.
