Just what the fingers ordered! Leaving the price out of the discussion, this grip is light, rigid, and fits the v1 perfectly. For one handed use, it improves the hold of the camera immeasurably. I love it. It must be removed to access the battery and card, but that's easy enough to do. February 14, 2013

I understand the issue with the flooding in some of the factories, but is there a certain order of products to be assembled that you guys can estimate when this item in particular will be available? It's been backordered for a while, however I am willing to wait in regards to the flooding.

Thanks! Can't wait!

Several websites are listing this as a battery grip in the title. I haven't seen anywhere where it claims to be a battery grip, but one can hope and the price is steep for just a plastic grip.

Does the Gr-N1000 grip have a 1/4-20 threaded hole in the bottom?
If not, is the grip bottom made of solid aluminum so that I could drill and tap a hole?
Thanks.... Perry
