Key Features

Nikon HN-1 Lens Hood (52mm Screw-In) for 20-60mm f/3.5-5.5 IX, 24mm f/2.8, 28 f/2 AI-S & 35mm f/2.8 PC Lenses.
Use of specifically engineered Nikon lens hoods is highly recommended.
In less-than-ideal lighting conditions, the performance difference can be substantial.
Optional Screw-in lens hood for select NIKKOR lenses.
By reducing the amount of non-essential light falling onto the front lens element, lenses can better achieve their optimum optical performance, producing more saturated images.

I recently purchased this for my AF-D 24 f/2.8. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find a filter which will fit into the thread on the outer side of this lens hood. 52 mm diameter filters seem too large. Is there a certain side that will fit into the thread? Thanks!

Answer:
You must screw the filter to the lens first then screw the hood to the filter. The threads on the outer portion of the hood are concentric grooves to reduce reflections, they are not intended to screw anything into.
