I would like to get a wide angle attachment for my d5000 to try until I can save enough money to get an actual wide angle lens. Would this work? Is there anything else that I would need to attach it to my current lens?

This is a Wide-Angle Converter for the Coolpix P5000 and P5100. This converter is not compatible with D-SLRs.

The WC-E67 Wide angle converter is for use with the Nikon Coolpix P5000 and P5100 digital cameras. It requires the adapter ring UR-E20 to attach the WC-E67 lens to the above cameras, so I doubt if it would work on anything else.
