Best for Nikon RAW images
Adobe bundles are just smoking in the corner, when this thing is making first step in photo editing from RAW to JPEG, best sharpnes details on the photos, when in adobe converter you will get artifacts, here you'll get best quality.
Ease of use, you know what you'll do and if you do right, picture will be juicy, colourfull and sharp.

Great easy to use and powerful program
What a great little program, does exactly what you need it to do and can help recover some not so good photos if you are shooting in RAW and happen to have left you camera on the wrong setting.

Great review tool
I love how easy ViewNX2 works on my Windows 7 with Intel Core i7 with a 120GB SSD. (Solid State HD).
I love the ability to assign ratings 1 through 9 and Categories 1-5 as I look at 1,000's of images. I frequently ask the client to use ViewNX2 when they review their images. I ask the client to assign the ratings. Then I filter the rating and copy the best images for the client.
The filter is outstanding.
I have not had any of the crashes or slowdowns that other users have complained about.
I don't use ViewNX2 for editing.
I use the delete key; if it is not good in the camera then I didn't do a good job. Smile. I use Photoshop CS5 for editing and Portrait Professional, Ver. 10 for editing faces and skin.
I love when I shoot NEF and JPG that ViewNX2 will assign the ratings to both the NEF (RAW) image and to the JPG image at the same time.

Great program
I have used the original and View NX2 and I love them both. I never had any experience with them locking up or crashing, and I was running them on an older,slower computer with 500megs of ram. I dont do batch processing , but for single photoes I'v never had an issue.

When I make corrections to a NEF file and convert it to jpeg, the jpeg file does not contain the corrections, why?
When I make corrections to a NEF file, for example rotate it or add contrast from the adjustment panel and then click 'Convert' a pop-up window asks me if I want to save the changes that i made to the file. I click 'yes' but when I convert the file to jpeg it is not changed, for example it is not rotated. Why is that?

When it saves the settings can you see the saved file as it will change the look of the NEF. The other thing to try is after you have made your adjustments click the save as button at the bottom of the adjustments and save to a different location.

When trying to use ViewNx to correct pictures from my Nikon D3100, the options to adjust exposure and white balance do not work.

Did you take the picture in RAW format? Exposure compensation and white balance will only work with RAW file, It will not work with JPG file because all the sensor data is remove once it is save as JPG

You will have to set your monitor to its native resolution to view images properly sized. Web browser and desktop can be made bigger by pressing CTRL and +.
i recently upgraded my mac op system to snow leopard and now view nx closes as soon as I open it. I upgraded view nx to 2. but still having same problem.

I just got my computer back from the shop and now have windows XP professional. I redownloaded the Nikon Transfer software and it does not transfer. I used to plug the card in and it uploaded right away. What is wrong?

Why do I get an out of memory error after editing several pictures?
When batch processing .NEF images I always get the message "failed to save adjustments due to insufficient memory". I have 8GB of ram and when this happens usually 2-2,5GB ram is used in TOTAL. I have tried ViewNX on XP 32 and XP 64, problem is the same.

It will work with all Nikon cameras, it basically is a photo viewer so it will work with any jpegs you have.

I have D70s and I use View NX2 to download images to my computer. I have about 600 images left on my 4 GB flashcard. I noticed that I there are
missing images that I know that I've captured with my camera. With the card in the camera after I try to review what I've taken, it just tells me that there are no images there for a particular frame. Is it a camera problem or something else? I've never had this happen before.

Why won't the panorama maker in my bundled s60 software suite CD work in os Lion?

Labels and Ratings for photos on a network drive not working in Capture NX 2.2.1
I am running Windows Vista 32 bit. Photos are on a network share from another Vista machine, mounted as"J" drive. View Nx sees the thumbnails etc.., but will not allow me to set ratings and star labels - very strange. Any ideas ?

When I update view nx2 to lasted version 2.3 today, I can't double click .NEF file to open with view nx2. Now when I want to open file I will open view NX Before and browse with view nx. More I try to right click and Open with view nx2 but not show in list and can't to browse too. my two computers have this problem the Question is Why and How to correct this problem.

Changes/ Edits to NEF files "say" they are saved but they are only viewable in View NX 2 they don't show up anywhere else...WHY???
