Hope this helps.

However, with modern hardware, and careful attention to using quality components to build it, everything else will be fast enough to really let the 8GB RAM be utilized. (note: unless you are working with very large NEF files, making many changes, and keeping several NEF files open at the same time, there is a good chance you will not consume more than 1 or 2 GB of RAM)
Remember, computer systems are complete SYSTEMS. Even more so than photography, performance of software can be handicapped by just one part being a bottleneck. Also, 64 bit OS and software does NOT mean faster, but it does allow you to address more RAM natively.
Hope this helps and I wasn't too long winded. :) Cheers!

Looking for Nikon tech support to sell me on NX2 when I have so many problems with it
I'm nearing the end of the free trial phase and have been plagued by a specific error that seems many with Core I3 and I7 processors have...
I have windows 7 computer, 6 gigs of ram, I3 core processor, 3.something gigahertz.
Whenever I edit large batches of photos for weddings or other large events, inevitably I always get the "dreaded ding of doom" meaning when I double click a thumbnail to bring up to full size in the center of the screen to edit it, when i click on the main image area to edit it, it just does the windows "ding" noise, and I can't do anything further except shut the program down and restart it.
Lightroom is starting to look better and better, though I'd really prefer to stay with native nikon software for my nikon d700.
Let me know what I can do about this error.
P.S ive already done the whole go into the tab proprities and run with xp compatibility, doesn't solve anything.
