Very good
It has all the essential settings you have in the camera menu. I had absolutely no problems with the software, the speed is great on a decent computer with a decent camera (even on x64 win 7). I have found no bugs (oh, except one, on a tab is writen "moive" instead of "movie" :) ). I had used CCP with a d90 and now with d7000. I love the live view option, lets you focus anywhere and is perfect for viewing the colors and the final look of the photo directly on the monitor. I also love how the new features of the d7000 were added especially "timelapse photography", a very usefull feature. With a decent computer, a decent camera and a lot of creativity this software is very helpfull.

Six Months and Still Waiting
CC Pro 2 is very capable and useful in the studio. Unfortunately, if you have a new Mac you cannot use it. I fear that by the time they make it compatible with Lion, it will be incompatible with the next OS upgrade. I gave it stars for the features and functionality, but it is useless if it will not run on computers that have been out for over half a year.

Great Software
This is a wonderful software. It allows full control of my Nikon D90. Its coolest feature is the "Time Lapse Photograhy", with which one can take photos at regular intervals automatically. I will definitely recommend this.

Latest trial version works great on windows 7
Download and picture capture in less than 2 minutes. (from Nikon/usa website Version 2.8.0) I have a D5000 that I take pictures from 10 feet above and the logistics of up and down ladders is a pain. I can control all the functions (excepting zoom) from my computer and view the picture instantly!

works together with View NX and projector
I've connected my D300 to a Notebook, activated Camera Control Pro and View NX, The Notebook is connected to a screen-projector. When a shot is taken with the D300, it immediately goes thru CC Pro and on to View NX, which is immediately displayed on a large screen by the projector. Works perfectly!

I am loosing connection regularly ("No camera Connected") when using:
- MacBook Pro, running 10.6.8
- Camera Control Pro 2 v 2.9.0
- Nikon D300s
- using different cables -different brands
Extremely annoying and embarrassing when you're shooting mainly Boards of Directors.
There are also tons of Nikon photographers having connectivity problems using Adobe software. Check Google. I haven't seen any answer on forums and or from any manufacturer involved.
Help please!

Can I use CC as a plugin to my automatic photo booth software to do video and stills through our own interface?
The idea is that we use CC's controls of the camera and features to take videos and photos, but the user sees only the skin of our software while CC runs silently in the background.

Answer:
No, The D5100 doesn't have the feature to be charge via USB cable while connecting to a computer. If you want to supply the camera with power constantly you may want to use the EP-5A Power Connector and the AC Adapter EH-5B.
Does anyone know why camera control would change the iso midway through a shoot and that includes a camera with auto iso disabled? Often, camera control changes shutter speeds randomly and I have even had it change my camera from manual to aperture priority. any thoughts how to stop this?

When you have the option of ISO Sensitivity Auto Control checked, the camera will adjust the ISO automatically. If this option is selected when the D3 or D300 (only) camera is connected, the maximum sensitivity and minimum shutter speed can be set by clicking the Details... button. Does this software let you save settings to a preset such as User 1 or User 2 on the D7000?
I'm looking to do detailed setups on my cam and not have to manually go through each and every function. On my video production equipment there are several software packages that allow you to do full configurations on the settings of the gear and save them for future use on an SD card.
My 7000's have the 2 user presets but they are a pain to setup due to all the menus, any chance that this software gives me this feature?
Thanks in advance

Answer:
In the Settings menu you can use it to save Camera Control pro settings and to load and apply previously saved settings:In Save Control Settings it will display a dialog where you can choose a destination and file name for current camera settings. Camera Control Pro settings are saved with the extension ".ncc". Note that bracketing settings, non-CPU lens settings, and changes to settings for the current Picture Control are not saved.
In Load Control Settings only files with the extension ".ncc" will be displayed in the destination that you saved them. Choose settings created with the camera currently connected. The settings in the Camera Control Pro window will instantly revert to the saved settings. Bracketing settings are not affected.
