Picture Control Utility: In certain Nikon digital SLRs such as the D3, D700, D300 and D90 customized image adjustment, including tone compensation curve data, can be saved to tailor the camera’s behavior to the photographer’s vision, improving efficiency when using multiple cameras at the same time.

Compatible with WiFi operation: In addition to supporting USB cable connections, Camera Control Pro offers compatibility with the optional wireless transmitter models WT-2a, WT-3a and WT-4A. When attached to a digital SLR, the WT-2a, WT-3a and WT-4A enable remote shooting and setting via a wireless LAN over WiFi.

Compatible with Nikon's Image Authentication Function: Image data can be transferred and stored without affecting the authentication function.

Take Control of Your Photography—Remotely: Using the included USB or Firewire cable and/or optional WiFi adapters for select models, Nikon Camera Control Pro enables you to capture unique images no matter what the subject.

LiveView support: Live previews direct from the camera are supported on the D3, D700, D300 and D90 when this feature is enabled. See what you are about to shoot!

Improved graphic user interface: A simulated (camera) LCD panel on the computer screen performs the same function as the camera’s viewfinder display which has been modified to be consistent with those used in the latest cameras for smoother operation.

Great Software I have been using this software for over a year and a half. It does a great job with being able to take pictures through my computer with my D800 tethered. I initially had some troubles getting my computer and camera to sync up but persisted (and bought another USB cable) and it works perfectly now. I had it running on a Windows 7 computer and now have it fully functional on a Windows 8.1 system. Other than the original issue with getting the software and the camera talking, it works like a charm and I have had no problems. There are some people who are complaining about having to pay for this software, well it does a lot and I understand that Nikon has to charge for it to be able to maintain and support it. After spending what I did for the D800 I really have no problems spending this for the software. Spend some time with it and you will learn a few tricks and find it to be as useful as I do. I use it at least twice a month and have gone through spells where I use it almost daily. If you need any support then just post a question on the support forum off the product page and either I or one of the other great Nikon users will be happy to respond to your question in a day or two. It would be nice to have it run full screen, but that is definitely not a deal breaker with this software. All I have to do is zoom in and move around on the image to view what it looks like. I have used it for stacking and the focus feature works great to accomplish this with nice small and consistent steps. October 26, 2013
Fantastic program works great on windows 7 (64 bit) Camera Control pro 2 is a great program because it supports tethered shooting with Nikon cameras and is even updated to work with the new D600. It also works great with windows 7 (64 bit). I have read that Mac users are upset that it does not work with new Mac OS update. I can shoot and view large RAW files ( 24 MP 14 bit uncompressed) almost instantly. Provides all histograms and allows the user to enlarge any part of the photo for closer examination. Thank you NIKON. September 28, 2012
Very good It has all the essential settings you have in the camera menu. I had absolutely no problems with the software, the speed is great on a decent computer with a decent camera (even on x64 win 7). I have found no bugs (oh, except one, on a tab is writen "moive" instead of "movie" :) ). I had used CCP with a d90 and now with d7000. I love the live view option, lets you focus anywhere and is perfect for viewing the colors and the final look of the photo directly on the monitor. I also love how the new features of the d7000 were added especially "timelapse photography", a very usefull feature. With a decent computer, a decent camera and a lot of creativity this software is very helpfull. January 28, 2012
Six Months and Still Waiting CC Pro 2 is very capable and useful in the studio. Unfortunately, if you have a new Mac you cannot use it. I fear that by the time they make it compatible with Lion, it will be incompatible with the next OS upgrade. I gave it stars for the features and functionality, but it is useless if it will not run on computers that have been out for over half a year. December 9, 2011
Great Software This is a wonderful software. It allows full control of my Nikon D90. Its coolest feature is the "Time Lapse Photograhy", with which one can take photos at regular intervals automatically. I will definitely recommend this. October 14, 2011

Working with CCP2 v2.13 on a Mac OS 10.6. When connected to the D90, the control for adjusting the shutter speed is not available in Manual mode. Shutter speed control is available in Shutter Priority mode on D90 and aperture is available when D90 aperture priority mode is selected.

Is there some setting required to have both the shutter speed and aperture control for adjustment in Manual mode?

Answer:
Camera control pro V2.13 supports Mac Os version 10.6.8 and higher. I noticed that you did not provide the last digit of your mac operating system.
If your system is supported, you may want to reset your camera shooting menu and custom setting menu. I tried several D90, but I could not recreate your issue. You can also try uninstalling camera control pro 2 and reinstall version 2.8.0 full version before applying the 2.13 update. Download link below.

Answer:
The maximum length for usb 2.0 is 16 feet and the maximum length for normal firewire is 15 ft. That is the maximum which the respective specifications provide, in practical use. What distance are you looking for? Push come to shove you could always have two laptops with a wireless peer to peer network and remote desktop to the one near the camera.

I was wondering if it is possible to use the ML-L3 remote in conjuntion with Camera control Pro while in liveview on a D90. I tried setting this up and as soon as I go into liveview my to top screen just says PC and I can not change anything. I attempted to put it in remote mode before entering live view and it works great while connected to camera control. However, as soon as I turn on live view I lose the functionality of the remote. Is this something that is just a limitation of the software or camera or am I just missing a setting somewhere?

Answer:
The shutter button on the remote serves the same function as the shutter button on the camera. Once in Live view mode in camera control pro 2, only the software can control the camera. Neither the shutter button on the camera nor the remote will work. You can use the remote and the shutter button on the camera with camera control pro 2, but only when live view is not activated.

Answer:
The newest version of NIKON CAMER CONTROL PRO 2 SOFTWARE no longer supports the D100. However you can download CAMERA CONTROL PRO 2 version 2.11.0 (last version of the software that supported the D100) from the link below. You can setup camera control pro 2 so that the images automatically open in VIEW NX 2 after they are shot and transferred.

I have downloaded the test program and was quite surprised that I couldn't get the photographic image in anything other than a very small thumbnail. If this is the case, what is the use of the program since I cannot see the image to determine if it is focused and properly lit? Have I missed something that will allow me to view the full image of what I just shot?

Answer:
I would not call it a thumb nail, although it is not full screen (or very close).
Now, what you are trying will not work much better if you could have the image full screen. What you want to do is use the dropdown list to the right. It normally defaults to 'Full Screen'. Select one of the percentages to zoom in and get accurate focus. You can move around by clicking different portions of the picture.
Do I find it annoying about the live view not being full screen, yes, but it does not surprise me due to the quantity of data being transmitted. With the zoom feature I am quite happy with getting the focus right. If I want to see a full screen image of the picture I will take a test pictures and view it in the Viewer window of Camera Control Pro 2.

Answer:
Camera Control Pro 2 (optional): Extremely versatile remote camera controls
For those that want to operate their camera via computer, Camera Control Pro 2 lets you control camera settings and various features from a distance. Aside from controlling exposure mode, shutter speed, and aperture, the software now offers numerous improvements to make the D800/D800E's live view operation exceptionally smooth. Creative control opportunities include remote start and stop for movie shooting and switching between live view for stills and movies. You can also adjust the monitor hue of live view photography and the resulting image's white balance individually, which can be quite helpful when working in the studio. You can also display audio level indicators during movie shooting. And with the optional WT-4A/B/C/D/E Wireless Transmitter, image files can be transferred using either Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection.

I have downloaded the free trial and am wanting to record myself and focus from my laptop. Is there a way to focus the camera while recording in live view? The focus button grays out when I begin recording.

Thanks!

Answer:
When the camera is set to live view with Camera Control Pro 2 the autofocus will not be a gray option when the focus mode is changed from AF-F to AF-S. If there are anymore questions please contact support at 1-800-NIKONUS!

Answer:
When connected to Camera Control Pro 2, the D7100 can shoot in continuous high and low speeds. Open the software and click on the Mechanical Tab that is located at the top of the Camera Control Pro 2's window. When opened to the Mechanical tab, the release mode will be visible. The relese mode cannot be changed with the software. The release mode will have to be selected on the camera. The number of shots taken with the camera in a continuous mode can be changed in the software.
