AS-17 TTL Flash Unit Coupler for F3 4 5 1 1
Nikon AS-17 Great product, But 20 years too late and far too expensive ( But I purchased one) when dedicated speedlights for the F3/F3HP are cheaper. The upside is it allows you to use your new(ish) SB-800/600 on your beloved Nikon F3. August 24, 2010

Answer:
As-17 and sb600 will work in manual and TTL mode, sb900 manual mode only as it is ITTL and not backward compatible to TTL.
