SC-29 TTL Coiled Remote Cord
Approx. 9-ft. coiled cord with built-in AF-Assist Illuminator for placement of the SB-910, SB-900, or SB-700 off camera. The SC-28/SC-29 makes off-camera TTL flash control easy and assured. With the Nikon D-SLRs, the SC-29 also works as an external AF-assist illuminator.
$112.00*SRPSRP (Suggested Retail Price) listed only as a suggestion. Actual prices are set by dealers and are subject to change at any time.

Eliminates guesswork
I recently jumped from the world of film to digital when I went from a faithful F5 to the D700. The F5 and an old Ftn still sit on a shelf in my library ready to go whenever I need them and over the years, a few other Nikon F series went as trade-ins for several newer versions.
As reluctant as I was to go digital, the D700, SB900 and the SC-29 cord all helped to make the transition fairly seamless and opened new chapters of creativity for me. My bag full of Nikon glass all made the transition and a new 400mm zoom also joined the team. The seasonal magazine that I publish has taken on a new look which seems to have pleased the readers. It also helps to have a good local Nikon dealer who has guided me through each step of the way.

Will the SC-29 cable work between a D7000 SLR camera and a SB-700 speedlight?
The new SB-700 appears to work fine when connected to the D7000 hot shoe, but when I add the recently purchased SC-29 cable to use my flash bracket the flash uint and the camera body no longer see one an other..

Can I trick the SC-29 TTL into thinking a flash is attached?
I'm using the cord with a D7000 & a SB-600. Sometimes I am at concerts where flash photography is not allowed and low light makes focusing difficult. And so I'd like to use the more discrete red AF assist lamp versus the on-board camera AF assist light. I'd like to keep things from getting too bulky so I'd rather not attach my SB-600 flash directly on camera just to use the red focus assist . Is there a way to attach the the SC-29 cord without having a flash on the end of it and have the cord's red AF Assist work? Splice or clip some wires? Thanks.

I want to use my Coolpix P7100 with an SC-29 and SB-800 on a SK-E900 Flash Bracket. Any problem with that? Is there a better way to obtain off camera flash on a handheld bracket with my P7100? Thanks, JWA

No its either one or the other.
What are the key situations in which one would use the SB-29? It seems that in most situations the Nikon wireless CLS system would suffice.

How does the SC-29 TTL Coiled Remote Cord attach to the SB-600?
There doesn't appear to be a manual for the cord and what I did find online appears to be in anything but English and so small I can read it anyway. It looks like one side sits in the shoe horn, but I"m not sure how the other side attaches to the SB-600 since there are no ports.

You have to mount the SB-600 in the hot shot of the SC-29 and the other connector goes in the hot shoe of the camera.2 months ago

Yes, you can use the D700 with the SB-800. When the SC-29 sync cable is used for off-camera flash photography, correct exposure may not be achieve in i-TTL. We recommend that you choose spot metering to select standard i-TTL flash control.

Why would I need an SC-29 with AF-assist when my SB-910 already has a powerful AF-assist?
I read that only one of the two AF-assists can be used at the same time.
Could you please explain why I would need the SC-29 with an SB-910.
Thank you.
