My AW100 died and Nikon CS took great care of a customer The camera takes just as great photos as my AW100. My AW100 died but Nikon Customer Service worked with me and took care of me. Great follow through for customer service and what soured my opinion actually came through. The camera is great although I haven't taken use of the WiFi yet. I have used it a few time of my nieces and nephews in the backyard pool and everyone was loving the results. August 29, 2014
Owned for 3+ years and never a fault Ive had mine since Christmas of 2011. This guy has been to the beach and pool countless times with never an issue. Always cleaned it with fresh water, and I have never doubted the seals. I am hoping the new ones are mostly user error than hardware error because unless there is a bad internal seal somewhere, I really do not see how it can fail. August 14, 2014
best underwater camera out there I bought one of these last year at a target store while on vacation in Orlando for discovery cove, for $349.00. It took amazing shots and video at depths greater than 15ft. I was using it underwater for hours with no problems, and no signs of leakage. When I got out of the water, I noticed I must have scratched the orange paint on a rock. The scratch bothered me so much that I exchanged it the next day for a new one. I keep my electronics meticulous. Well took the new one in the pool a week later back home, and after about an hour in the water the screen went black. So I returned that one also, I was so mad at myself for returning the first one that had the little scratch on it, but worked fine. Anyways, Walmart has these on clearance for $229 right now (May 2014), I even asked the manager if she could discount it even more, so she took off another $21. Long story short, so far so good. No problems whatsoever, takes beautiful shots, and no signs of leakage. I guess it's just the luck of the draw with these. May 18, 2014
Easy to use and carry I bought this one as soon as it was available. I have taken it on some cruises, to the beach, on the kayak and on the trail. I have never had to worry about it getting wet, unlike some of my friends. The is best waterproof camera that I have owned. I have owned 2 others. April 8, 2014
Love the quality and ease of use!!! Perfect camera for beach, snorkeling and everyday!!! I bought this camera at Costco in St. Louis, Missouri and couldn't believe I was getting 16 mega pixels, full 1080 HD video and a Nikon that was waterproof for the price!!! I had read a few negative reviews but decided to give it a try. We literally hit the water running with this camera!!! Daily snorkeling in Cozumel, diving up to 20 or more feet for close ups, taking it in the pool and getting funny looks from others thinking we just ruined our camera and much more. I have also used it back in the U. S. for birthday parties, hiking and everyday pictures. I am finding I don't even want to use my Canon or IPhone for pictures anymore!!! The negative reviews I did read are more like just using common sense when using the camera. Be sure to properly close the battery compartment before getting wet and allow camera to dry and remove sand or debris with the little brush they provide you with before opening. As far as foggy lenses go think of it like your sunglasses. If you have it in air conditioning or cool weather and all of a sudden you try to use it in the sun or warm water it may fog up a little. I only experienced this 1 time and all I had to do was wipe it off. In my opinion it is a great, compact, easy to use, well priced, quality and underwater capable camera!!! Would I buy it again? Most definitely!!! I hope some of you will find this information useful!!! February 25, 2014

For the Nikon AW-110, aside from the fastest Class 10 memory card designation that it supports either with use of a SD, SDHC or SDXC card, will it do me any good to purchase something like a Delkin 128GB UHS-1 card in the SDXC format or is the speed of this card too fast for the Aw-110 to take advantage of the fast transfer and read/write speeds advertised for this type of Delkin memory card?

Answer:
Get a Class ten card. UHS-1 devices indicate UHS-1 support. A UHS-1 card can still be using in a device that support SDXC and SDHC but it will not take advantage of the UHS-1 speed.

I have the AW110 and it takes great pictures. However, almost all of the pictures are rotated 90 degrees CCW. If I take a picture oriented in landscape, when I look at the picture in playback it will be in portrait. Same when I transfer the picture to a PC. Even if I took the picture in landscape the picture will be rotated 90 degrees CCW on the computer. I have to manually go in and rotate the pictures 90 degrees CW. I don't see any settings to control this and all the camera settings are in default. Please help.

And I also wonder what would be the best filter to use at 30-60 feet of depth if the flash imparts to much flare around the camera. I am trying to avoid 'blued-out' underwater images.

I need to disable the flash when taking pictures. I have turned off the flash. In low light situations, the flash is turning on, I assume to support the auto focus (when I take the picture, it does not flash). Is there a way to completely disable the flash? Or maybe use a specific mode?

I understand that the tech specs for the AW110 say that the shots per charge is 250 shots. However, how do you factor shooting video into that? Is there a scale which measures Seconds of Video that you would get per charge? Then, I could do the math on shots and video and know how many batteries I'll need for a trip (no electricity where I'm going). Thank you.

Was using the camera on a Italy vacation last week. When I had GPS turned on, the camera would lock up at times. When this happens, the camera is basically stuck, you can't even turn it off. I would proceed to remove the battery, reinsert, and then restart the camera. I never saw this issue when not using the GPS.

Answer:
The file numbering in the COOLPIX AW110 can be reset by using the "Reset All" feature.

If you have images on your memory card or in your internal memory, then "Reset All" will set the file number to the next number after the highest existing number. If you have no images on your memory card or internal memory then when you "Reset All" the next image will be named 001.

More information on "Reset All" can be found on page 87 of the Reference section of the AW110 manual. A copy of the AW110 manual can be downloaded from here: https://support.nikonusa.com/app/an...

To enable GPS recording in your AW110 press the Menu button and select the satelitte icon to access the GPS menu. Select GPS Options, go to Record GPS Data, then choose "ON".

Please refer to the Using GPS/Displaying Maps section of the AW110 manual for important information on GPS settings, satelitte reception and updating the camera's A-GPS file. Using the lates A-GPS file can shorten the time needed for tracking the position information.

Answer:
It could be because you have the camera set to a Scene Mode, Easy Auto, or Smart Portrait mode.
To use the multi Selector down to activate Close-UP, the camera must be in Auto Mode(Not Scene Mode, Easy Auto, or Smart Portrait).

To select Auto mode, press the shooting mode button (button with the green camera icon) then scroll down and select Auto Mode (First camera icon from the bottom left corner of the screen)

GPS information can be recorded to both photos and Videos. Please make sure you are receiving satellite signals from at least 3 or more satellites before pressing the recording button. Refer to page 84 of the AW110 user manual to see the GPS Reception Indicators.

Answer:
Both the AW100 and the AW110 are waterproof* and shockproof* and freezeproof.* Both cameras also have built in GPS, mapping, electronic compass and Wi-Fi®. While these 2 models have many other features in common, there are differences worth noting, such as:
-The AW110 can shoot up to 6 shots at approximately 8 frames per second at full resolution. The AW100 can shoot up to 3 shots at approximately 7.1 frames per second at full resolution.
-The AW110 enables shooting pictures underwater at a depth of 18m (59ft) for up to 60 minutes. The AW100 enables shooting underwater at a depth of 10m (33ft) for up to 60 minutes.
-The AW110 has a 614,000 dot monitor while the AW100 has a 460,000 dot monitor.

A good way to compare these 2 cameras is to use the Compare tool on Nikonusa.com. Go to the following page, check the Compare checkbox for each camera, then click Compare Now to see their specifications side-by-side:
http://www.nikonusa.com/en/Nikon-Pr...

*Please refer to the product manuals for any applicable restrictions. The manuals for the AW100 and the AW110 can be downloaded from here:

Answer:
Unfortunately, the information that you are requesting is not part of the published specification of this camera, and certain features of Nikon cameras are not available in all countries. It appears that you are from Greece and therefore it would be best to contact Nikon Greece to find out what the technical specifications of the AW110 available in Greece are. Nikon Greece website link is below.
