Wonderful camera, replaced Nikon S5200 I have had this camera a short time but it took wonderful pictures at a birthday celebration and baby shower, two different occasions. I was told how wonderful the pictures were! I was very happy as I had the Nikon S5200 and it was apparently faulty..love this one! August 5, 2014
Best camera I have ever owned I love the one click photo feature. It is so easy, and I do not have to tell everyone to wait 5 seconds in the same position until the picture loads onto the camera. It is wonderful! January 6, 2014
Great Family Camera Definitely one of the best digital cameras we've owned. The battery life is great and it charges quick. Very good picture quality. It's quick and easy to use and packed with useful options. I've owned some terrible cameras so this is refreshing, lol. Thumbs up! January 1, 2014
HIGH QUALITY PICTURES FOR EMAILING & PRINTING. CONVERTS YOUR PICTURES SO THEY ARE NOT TOO LARGE ON EMAILS. THE QUALITY OF THE PICTURE IS AMAZING. ONLY DOWNFALL IS THE LCD SCREEN IS VERY PIXELATED AFTER YOU TAKE THE PICTURE. IT'S HARD TO SEE IF YOU TOOK A QUALITY PICTURE UNLESS YOU ZOOM IN AFTERWARD. ALSO THE NIKON TRANSFER 2 PROGRAM DOES THE SAME. NON THE LESS, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CAMERA FOR THE PRICE AND QUALITY OF EMAIL AND PRINTED PICTURES. December 19, 2013
I have to love it.. its replacing my S3100 I worked the S3100 really hard over the past couple of years... some 27,000 + pics and videos. The S3500 has a lighter case but the same dependability. Loving the new lens features... looking forward to having a great time with it!!! November 5, 2013

Answer:
A longer recording time can be achieved at the expense of video quality.
Press the menu button, select the movie icon, select movie options, and chose 480/30p or 240/30p.
Individual movie files cannot exceed 2 GB in size or 29 minutes in length. Recording may end before this limit is reached if camera temperature becomes elevated.

No. If you need a small file size, select a lower quality format from the movie options.
It's like asking to have the firmaware in a cd player updated so that it plays DVD. IT cannot be done. Get a new memory card with more space on it.

i noticed on this forum that some people mentioned getting an audio/video cable with the camera. I did not get one. Also, the quick start guide did not mention that one should have been included. Is this something you only receive if you purchase it online?

The maximum file size for a single movie is 2 GB or the maximum movie length for a single
movie is 29 minutes, even when there is sufficient free space on the memory card for
longer recording. The higher the movie quality, the larger the file size.

Answer:
Using one setting to shoot in low light is challenging no matter the camera, especially when your subjects are moving, and the person holding the camera has no experience. You can try sport scene mode, or auto mode with single, continuous, or best shot selector. You will need to take many pictures, alot of them will be blurry and you might get a few good ones. You can only get away without making any adjustment when you are shooting outside in broad daylight.

Answer:
It is likely that the Chome book does not have the driver needed to communicate with S3500. Nikon cameras and softwares are designed to run on Windows and Macintosh computers. If your chrome book has an SD card slot, you will need to remove the SD card from the camera and insert it into the chrome book, or get a card reader.

Answer:
CMYK is generally used for printing where as the COOLPIX S3500 and LCD Display use an RGB format. There are no color settings within the camera that will allow the camera to shoot in a CMYK. Depending on the software that is being used with the camera, images can be printed with CMYK. Nikon cannot speculate that third party software that can do this will be compatible.

I've checked the web page and the manual and "UDMA" is not mentioned in either. Based on complaints on Amazon about camera speed, and suggestions that memory card type and UDMA may be a factor, I'd like to know before I buy.

Answer:
The COOLPIX S3500 will display the number of remaining shots in the lower right corner of the LCD display. This number will depend on the remaining capacity of the internal memory or memory card, and the image quality and image size.

Please see page 24 of the S3500 manual for an image showing the location of this number in the display. For more information memory capacity see page 33 of the reference section of the S3500 manual. A copy of the S3500 manual can be downloaded from here:https://support.nikonusa.com/app/an...
