Android software quirky I had great expectations to have high quality optics with a phone or pad like connectivity. However, it took several attempts to get to any settings, and then after a few restarts, I was able to make the adjustments to time and log into my google account. There is a significant delay in response when pressing either the onscreen icons or the 3 buttons on the side. I realize this is a beta version, so there are a few bugs to work out. The good - The camera optics is great, and the zoom feature is really nice. I haven't figured out uploading the pictures to google drive as yet, mostly because getting to the Android interface has been tricky. I can load to my computer by hardwiring or the memory card. Understand, I have been a faithful Nikon camera user for over a couple of decades, so I expect the best from this company. Considering I am very knowledgeable about working with computing devices and mobile devices, I think it might be really difficult for someone who is not. May 9, 2014

Answer:
Images can be stored to the internal memory. The COOLPIX S810c has approximately 1.4GB of internal storage. The amount of images that are saved onto the internal memory may vary dependng on image mode settings. A Micro SD card is useful for more storage space.

Example: What is Smart Portrait? The modes are mentioned in the manual, but not described. I need more than a fancy name before I know how and when to use such modes.

Answer:
Various camera scene mode descriptions and can be found on the pages in the manual that talks about the specific scene mode for the COOLPIX S810c. This would be starting at page 34. Scene mode descriptions can also be found also in the Learn and Explore Glossary page.
