Excellent Technical characteristics and Quality of Nikon Coolpix p530 I have bought Nikon coolpix p530 and I am very happy with this camera. It has a lot of variable parameters, which can suite needs may be even professional photographer. In the same time I use auto mode and the camera takes excellent quality pictures even in very hard lighting conditions (dark or too bright conditions, see specification it has very wide range of exposure parameters such shutter speed, ISO and others). So far I almost do not use Flash, because the camera taking excellent pictures in most lighting conditions. The camera has option to save often used settings in User's profile U on the Mode Dial. Optical zoom x42 working excellent no matter if I am taking still images or in movie mode. Vibration compensation system VR, designed by Nikon working excellent. I checked it taking movie clip while being walking and results are excellent. I have turned OFF digital zoom in settings, because x42 optical zoom satisfies me fully. I have opened some pictures in Photo Now, zoomed them in and quality is excellent even with high magnification. I have taken a movie clip and played it on my Sharp wide screen 46 inch HD TV and quality is comparable with the movie taken using professional big camera for taking movies, which cost obviously more, then ten thousand dollars. I assume I have made excellent choice and I am very happy with my new camera Nikon Coolpix p530. Special Thanks to Nikon's designers. December 16, 2014

I have read on Internet that the camera's lens doesn't have a tread for attaching it a filter.
Even they say that this is common flaw in the P600-P530 families.
I would like to have an answer by a Nikon adviser.
Thanks in advance.

The new COOLPIX P530 also demonstrates the capabilities of NIKKOR optics through an astounding 42x optical zoom with a 24-1000mm range (35mm equivalent) and 84x Dynamic Fine Zoom* that gets the user even closer. This long-zoom offering affords the ability to capture subjects at otherwise unreachable distances in clear detail thanks to Lens Shift VR image stabilization, which helps minimize camera shake. At the core of the P530 is a 16.1-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor that delivers beautiful photos and Full HD 1080/60i videos. Whether a user is looking to grow their photography skills or wanting more control over every shot, the P530 includes full manual controls (P, S, A, M). To help frame stunning photos and HD videos, the COOLPIX P530 sports a 3.0-inch (7.5cm) LCD monitor and a built-in electronic viewfinder, while users can also share their creations with friends and family when connected to the optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter.

The COOLPIX P520 creates pro-caliber photos and Full HD 1080p videos from mind-boggling distances, even in extremely low-light conditions. Track your travels and explore points of interest with built-in GPS. Take control of your vision with full P, S, A, M exposure modes. From its superb 42x zoom NIKKOR glass lens and 18.1-megapixel low-light CMOS image sensor to its D-SLR-inspired design and 3.2-inch Vari-angle LCD, the COOLPIX P520 delivers the pinnacle of performance and zoom. he COOLPIX P520 records the exact location of each shot you take, so you can follow the path of your adventure and every stunning view along the way! Share your journeys on Google Earth™, Google+™, and other social media sites or with the included Nikon View NX2 software. Connect the optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter and wirelessly transfer photos to your smartphone, tablet or any compatible Wi-Fi® enabled device. Use your smartphone to instantly upload your shots to the web or email them to a friend. Install Nikon's free Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility and remotely control the COOLPIX P520—see what the camera sees from your smartphone or tablet and fire off shots! The COOLPIX P520 performs so well in low light situations that, in most cases, using the flash is optional. Of course, when the lighting is extremely poor and you need a flash, it'll be there.

I bought the Coolpix P530 a week ago, all it came with was a Quick Start guide. I'd like the printed version of the user's guide, not the downloadable one. I had a P100 and it had a compact 200 page user's guide that fit nicely in my purse or camera bag, I would love to have one for this new camera. I had to replace my P100 when it got damaged while on vacation. Should there have been a standard user guide in the box with my new camera? Went back to the store and they wouldn't open another box to check.

Answer:
The COOLPIX P530 does not have the capability to attach filters because the built in lens does not have threads. The COOLPIX P530 has a built in lens therefore it cannot use the detachable NIKKOR lenses.
