My AW100 died and Nikon CS took great care of a customer The camera takes just as great photos as my AW100. My AW100 died but Nikon Customer Service worked with me and took care of me. Great follow through for customer service and what soured my opinion actually came through. The camera is great although I haven't taken use of the WiFi yet. I have used it a few time of my nieces and nephews in the backyard pool and everyone was loving the results. August 29, 2014
Owned for 3+ years and never a fault Ive had mine since Christmas of 2011. This guy has been to the beach and pool countless times with never an issue. Always cleaned it with fresh water, and I have never doubted the seals. I am hoping the new ones are mostly user error than hardware error because unless there is a bad internal seal somewhere, I really do not see how it can fail. August 14, 2014
best underwater camera out there I bought one of these last year at a target store while on vacation in Orlando for discovery cove, for $349.00. It took amazing shots and video at depths greater than 15ft. I was using it underwater for hours with no problems, and no signs of leakage. When I got out of the water, I noticed I must have scratched the orange paint on a rock. The scratch bothered me so much that I exchanged it the next day for a new one. I keep my electronics meticulous. Well took the new one in the pool a week later back home, and after about an hour in the water the screen went black. So I returned that one also, I was so mad at myself for returning the first one that had the little scratch on it, but worked fine. Anyways, Walmart has these on clearance for $229 right now (May 2014), I even asked the manager if she could discount it even more, so she took off another $21. Long story short, so far so good. No problems whatsoever, takes beautiful shots, and no signs of leakage. I guess it's just the luck of the draw with these. May 18, 2014
Easy to use and carry I bought this one as soon as it was available. I have taken it on some cruises, to the beach, on the kayak and on the trail. I have never had to worry about it getting wet, unlike some of my friends. The is best waterproof camera that I have owned. I have owned 2 others. April 8, 2014
Love the quality and ease of use!!! Perfect camera for beach, snorkeling and everyday!!! I bought this camera at Costco in St. Louis, Missouri and couldn't believe I was getting 16 mega pixels, full 1080 HD video and a Nikon that was waterproof for the price!!! I had read a few negative reviews but decided to give it a try. We literally hit the water running with this camera!!! Daily snorkeling in Cozumel, diving up to 20 or more feet for close ups, taking it in the pool and getting funny looks from others thinking we just ruined our camera and much more. I have also used it back in the U. S. for birthday parties, hiking and everyday pictures. I am finding I don't even want to use my Canon or IPhone for pictures anymore!!! The negative reviews I did read are more like just using common sense when using the camera. Be sure to properly close the battery compartment before getting wet and allow camera to dry and remove sand or debris with the little brush they provide you with before opening. As far as foggy lenses go think of it like your sunglasses. If you have it in air conditioning or cool weather and all of a sudden you try to use it in the sun or warm water it may fog up a little. I only experienced this 1 time and all I had to do was wipe it off. In my opinion it is a great, compact, easy to use, well priced, quality and underwater capable camera!!! Would I buy it again? Most definitely!!! I hope some of you will find this information useful!!! February 25, 2014

Answer:
The COOLPIX AW110 has both an Easy Panorama Mode and a Panorama Assist Mode. The Easy Panorama Mode allows you to take horizontal or vertical panoramic images that have a range of either 180º or 360º. The Panorama Assist Mode guides you in taking a series of individual images that you can stitch together into a single panoramic image using the Panorama Maker software that is included on the View NX2 CD that comes with the camera.

The Nikon1 J2, which you have also linked to this question, has an Easy Panorama Creative Mode.

For more information on the Easy Panorama Scene Mode see this article on NikonUSA.com:

Answer:
Nikon does not manufacture a solar battery charger. There may be a third party manufacturer of a product of this kind but Nikon cannot offer advice or support for third party products. Additionally, the use of non-Nikon electronic accessories could damage the camera and may void your Nikon warranty.

Answer:
When the Wifi feature is activated on the AW110, the camera creates it own wifi hot spot which you must connect to using an Iphone, Ipad, Adroid smart phone, or android tablet, and you need to have the 'WMAU' (Wireless mobile Adapter Utility) already installed on your smart device before trying to connect. The app can be downloaded from the google play store and Apple app store using your smart device. The AW110 cannot connect to your broadband router or anything else.

After turning on the AW100 Wifi, You should see an SSID displayed, and colurful square boxes moving around on your AW110 screen. At this point, you must go to the settings on your Iphone, Ipad, Adroid smart phone, or android tablet, and activate the Wifi, and you will see the SSID on the camera screen displayed as one of the available networks on your Smart device. Tap the network to connect. After connecting to the network, Open the WMAU app and enjoy remote shooting with the AW110 using Your smart device.

Answer:
The Negotiation screen is an indication that you are fully connected and you should open up the WMU application on your iPad. If you do not have the wireless mobile utility app installed on your iPad, you can search and download it from Apple app store using your iPad. The app will only show up as a iphone app, so you will need to change the settings when you are in the store so that the ipad shows iPhone apps.

see page 91-93 in your manual, or contact technical support for a walk through setup if you are still having issues.

Hi, I just bought a new Nikon AW110. And tried to sink it in a basin (about 1m depth) for about 10 minutes.
And when I took it up, clean and brush all of the body. I open the battery seal and I see some water drop around the battery place, but it's not enter the battery and the port area (just in the edges)

Also, when I tried to shake my camera. There are some water splashing from the body, seems like it's enter the front body. Is it normal?

But after that, it's still working normal. I'm just worry that I can't use it in the sea or in a deep pool.
Thank you.

Answer:
The Wi-Fi option in the COOLPIX AW-110 menu will be greyed out if there is no memory card inserted in the camera or if an Eye-Fi card is inserted in the camera. Also, since Wi-Fi will add to the camera's power usage, be sure to have a fully charged battery in the camera when using this feature.

For more information on using the Wi-Fi feature of the AW-110 see page 91 of the AW-110 manual. A copy of the AW-110 manual can be found here: https://support.nikonusa.com/app/an...

Answer:
Nikon does not make wide-angle or fisheye converter attachments for the COOLPIX AW-110. However, the AW-110 has a 5.0-25.0mm lens with an angle of view equivalent to that of 28-140mm lens in 35mm [135] format. The AW-110 also has a built-in fisheye effect that can be applied to images after they are taken. You can find more information about the fisheye effect on page 48 of the AW-110 manual. A copy of the AW-110 manual can be found here:

Answer:
The Wireless Mobile Utility currently allows the user to take still photos remotely and to transfer pictures from the camera's memory card to their smart device. The user can control the zoom of the camera but other camera features must be set in the camera prior to connecting wirelessly to the app. Unfortunately Nikon cannot speculate about future products or enhancements until official information is announced on our web site: www.nikonusa.com.

Answer:
An EYE-FI card is not needed. The AW110 has a built in WI-FI feature for transferring pictures from the camera to a smart device, and remote control of the camera shutter and zoom using the Smart device (Apple or Android). WI-FI can be enable via the camera Setup menu. You will need an SD card. This list of approved sd cards for the AW110 are in the link below. You will also need to download the WMU app from the google play store or apple app store to your smart device.
https://support.nikonusa.com/app/an...

The WI-FI Network option in the camera setup menu will be greyed out if the camera battery is low. when there is no memory card in the camera, If there is an eye-fi card in the camera or if the USB camera is plugged into the camera.
