Good low cost camera Very good inexpensive digital camera. I have high end Nikon digital and love it, but this is a good down and dirty scenery shooter. Took it on a cruise and loved the results. February 13, 2014
A lot of good things Easy to operate but it should have a back light on buttons. September 10, 2013
Easy to use. Great Camara Features are easy to learn. Overall great Camera. Awesome Pics August 21, 2013
Takes good pictures.. Seems to be a great camera, so far,so good. I think I will enjoy it a lot. November 14, 2013
Not worth the money I have been using Nikon for a number of years and the problem that occurs is the viewing screen is touched the wrong way and it breaks. I use a camera daily for my job. After going through 6 in a little over a year, I changed brands. I purchased an LG at roughly the same price and it lasted nearly 2 years. Upon that camera breaking, in a hurry, I decided to try your product again. I bought this camera on 12/24/2013 and exactly 2 months later, the same thing happens. So needles to say, I have gone with another brand. I would in fact like my money back for this item. March 28, 2014

Answer:
To transfer images from the camera internal memory to a computer, you will need to use the camera USB cable. The process is the same as transferring images from an SD card in the camera. You can download Nikon View NX2 software from the link below and Use it to transfer the images. For transfer instructions, check the 'help' tab in the software.

When I take photos of moving or shaking objects, it gets blurry. When click the capture button, it is showing the shutter speed as 1/60. I think if i can set it manually to something around 1/1600, it will improve the quality of image. Please tell me how can I set the shutter speed manually ?

Answer:
You cannot set the shutter speed manually with the COOLPIX L28. You might want to try using the Sports Scene Mode, please see page 34 of your pdf manual for more information. In this mode the camera will focus on the center of the frame, capture a maximum of 6 frames at a amx frame rate of 1.1 fps.

I have the L122 and the auto focus brackets don't move anymore so I don't have auto focus, which is why I bought a new camera.

Answer:
The L28 is suppose to automatically focus when you lightly press and hold the shutter button Halfway down. You should hear a sound and the focus brackets in the center of the screen should lit green. The camera will take the picture without focusing properly if you press the button too hard.

In Scene Mode/Easy Scene Mode, the camera uses face detections when Portraits, Night Portrait, and Pet portrait scenes are selected. A yellow box will show up around the face of a human or pet such as a cat or dog, and when the shutter button is lightly pressed halfway down, the camera focuses on the face. See page 57 of the user manual.

When the camera is set to Auto Mode (Not Easy Auto). face detection cannot be use. The camera uses the center of the screen to focus and the focus brackets in the center of the screen cannot be moved.

I'm hoping I can find a firmware update for my coolpix L28 that uses the date/time stored in the camera to create unique filenames, instead of starting with dscn0000.jpg and iterating every time I clear the sd card.
I should be able to move pictures from one directory to another without having to mess with their filenames, or risk over-writing once-in-a-lifetime photos.

Answer:
In NIKON TRANSFER 2, there is an option to rename photos before they are transferred. This option is located under the primary destination tab. You can also rename the photos once they are transferred to your computer. Changing the files names via the L28 menu is not possible.
