Photos and Full HD videos only a Nikon can capture

The brilliant image quality of a Nikon camera

So many moments deserve the superior image quality and zoom power of a camera. With the COOLPIX S800c, you no longer have to choose between great photos and connectivity—you get both! Shoot beautiful 16.0 megapixel photos and Full HD (1080p) videos, even in low light conditions. With a 10x optical Zoom-NIKKOR ED glass lens, zoom in to telephoto distances (25-250mm) and make faraway objects appear right in front of you. Forget about blurry images—Optical VR image stabilization means a little camera shake won't keep you from taking sharp photos. And when you're in a tricky shooting situation, let Scene Modes optimize the camera settings for you.

bluetooth don't work i am a Nikon fan. I have 4 nikon camera: D800, D7000, cool pix s3500 and recently purchased s800c. The only weak point in s800 is it,s bluetooth setting. I couldn,t set it,s conection with other divices. At all s800c is an excellent camera.don,t hasitate... Buy it. April 2, 2014
Great for uploading pics to social media I would recommend this camera to anyone who is familiar with smartphones. I myself have an android, though I found this camera really easy to use. I am a blogger and use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram regularly and this camera is able to upload pictures straight to them using the local wifi. I bought this camera for mine and my daughter's first vacation and wanted a better way to share the pictures with my friends and family through social media while we were on our trip, instead of waiting until we got home. I have finally found the camera for me. May 13, 2013
Great camera! This camera is a great camera for somebody who wants a good camera. I love the features it has like the built in GPS, google play store so you could put games on your camera etc. great camera for the price. I'm writing the review on the camera right now!. I know people have said it takes long for the camera to come on at first it does but it hasn't taken long at all since.not a bulky big camera like some other cameras which I personally like. Very portable, the wifi runs fast and it takes great quality pictures!. Hope you like your nikon s800c like I do December 29, 2012
first camera in anroid it is a very good model,it is a camera with like asmart phones and it has a better megapixel and zoom, you can download any application and i like this model of nikon October 12, 2012
NewUser I just purchased this camera yesterday and am anxious to learn how to use all the special features. The camera seems to have a lot of potential...I love the GPS feature especially. I am hoping to find plenty of helpful videos to get me started. January 28, 2014

I put the card in the camera and try to force it to mount, it does its search and still does not see I have a SD card in the camera at all. I tried my card from my Kodak, it is just a 1GB SD card, it works fine. What do I need to do to make the 64GB SDHC readable? format with Windows? what format do I do? I can see the card with Windows, i even added the firmware folder to it.

Got a new s800c yesterday and loaded latest firmware (version 1.1) last night. Today the camera completely froze up on 4 separate occasions when turning it on (resuming from standby). Received the message: "Sorry, activity Play (in application Play) is not responding". I was given the choice to Force close or wait. After this, the camera locks up and the only way to get it to function is to remove and re-insert the battery. Not good when this happens multiple times on the second day of ownership. Anyone know if there is a fix for this? Seems to happen consistently when the camera is put into Standby while in Play mode.

Answer:
Please check the approved memory card list below or your user manual to make sure the memory card you are using in the S800c is approved. It also has to be class 6 or faster. You can also try resetting the S800C settings. If the issue persists, Technical Support contact information can be found at support.nikonusa.com

The peer to peer connection to transfer pictures to a smart device is pretty nice (android to android). Is it possible to establish a similar connection to a laptop running windows? It'd be nice not to have to involve a router (or curse the somewhat unusual cable you left at home...)

Answer:
Turn on the S800C then connect the camera to the computer with the USB cable. Once connected the camera monitor will display a prompt to either 'Turn on USB storage' or 'Charge battery'. Tap 'Turn on USB storage' to turn on USB mode. When you are done, eject or disconnect the S800C from the computer (as you would a removable disk), then tap the 'Turn off USB storage' on the camera monitor before disconnecting the USB cables.

Transferring videos can be done the same way as transferring pictures. If your video files are not transferring, Please check your IPad to make sure you have enough space for the video file you are trying to transfer. Videos, especially HD videos, requires a lot of data space.

Answer:
It sounds like you are shooting in either Sports Scene mode or Continuous H mode, both of which take 3 pictures in quick succession at a rate of about 8 frames per second.

If you are in Sports Mode, the camera will display a green sports icon (see attached) on the right side of the shooting display. Click the sport icon to change to another mode.

Continuous H is available when you are in Auto Mode. If you are in Auto Mode the camera will display a green camera icon (see attached) on the right side of the shooting display. Click the camera icon to change to another mode or click Menu, then Continuous, then Single, to switch to stay in Auto mode but switch to Single shot mode.

If you aren't sure which mode to shoot in, try the Easy Auto Mode which will make your shooting decisions for you. Information on the features of each shooting mode can be found starting on page 30 of the manual. A copy of the S800C manual can be downloaded from this address: http://support.nikonusa.com/app/ans...

Answer:
The Gallery App in the Android section of the COOLPIX S800C does not display images that are stored on the camera's internal memory. Only images saved to a memory card will be displayed. If there are images in the camera's internal memory that you wish to display in the Gallery, use the Copy option to copy the images from the internal memory onto the memory card.

Information on using the Copy option in the S800C can be found on page 50 of the Reference section of the S800C manual. The S800C manual can be downloaded from this address:

Answer:
Yes. If you select Close-up scene mode, the S800c should remain on Macro mode when you turn the camera off and on. For instructions selecting close-up scene mode. See page 32 of the S800c reference manual in the link below.

Answer:
Check to make sure your image size is set to a high quality setting - the default setting is 16 Megapixels with a 1:8 compression ratio which will allow you to print up to 15"x11.5" at 300 dpi. There is a chart on page 27 of the Reference section of the S800C manual that shows the print size that you can acheive at the different image mode settings. You can download a copy of the S800C manual from here: https://support.nikonusa.com/app/an...

If your print results do not match up with the sizes shown in the chart, please contact Nikon Support for further troubleshooting: http://support.nikonusa.com

Answer:
I know the concert is probably over by now but using a point and shoot without flash at a night concert will result in blurr images. You can do the following to reduce blurry images.
Put the camera in Auto mode, then:
Increase the ISO sensitivity value.
Enable vibration reduction.
Use BSS (BestShotSelector).
You can still try to get one of those stealth tripods to stabilize the camera when
shooting (using the self-timer at the same time is more effective).
Good Luck

Answer:
The MH-65 Battery Charger can be use to charge the EN-EL12 battery.

The EH-62F AC Adapter can be use to power the COOLPIX S800c from an electrical outlet. The camera can be used while it is plugged in.

Answer:
The COOLPIX S800c is using a powersaving option to garuntee lasting battery during usage. This power saving mode greatly reduces battery power consumption and allows you to quickly turn back on the camera. Press the power switch to enter stand by mode. Press the power switch again to immediately exit stand by mode and resume shooting or playback.
