LOVE THIS CAMERA! I am a 55 year old mother and grandmother--The size of the camera is perfect for me! I love this camera! So easy to use! Was taking pictures and movies the second I received it as a gift for Christmas! December 26, 2012
great little camera use this every day for my job. take about 200 pix a day with no problems. December 17, 2012
Bets Value This is the simplest camera with the best technical features that are available on the market, that I could locate. I would recommend this product to anyone, no matter what their talent level. The other thing that is attractive is its small size. The other thing that is valuable are the software properties that are provided by the Nikon within the camera and the located on the Internet. December 6, 2012
Absolutely Amazing Camera! My husband and I purchased this early in a bundle deal for our Christmas gift and we absolutely love this camera! No more dealing with batteries as this recharges in 2.5 hours with the same battery that stays in it. This can hook up easily to my laptop, tablet, or hdtv to view photos and videos at any time! So cannot wait to purchase more Nikon items as we are definitely sold!! November 20, 2012
Great Camera This is a great camera! Original purpose of purchase was to have an inexpensive, small camera for quick pictures when carrying my Nikon SLR isn't convenient. The first pictures I took with the Cool Pix were better than expected. Great for ease of use, good color and picture quality. I've used the macro for flower and nature closeups. I take it with me in museums - I use the museum scene mode - and the photos are fabulous without the fuss of lots of equipment. I use my SLR for serious picture taking, but this little camera goes everywhere with me for snapshots and fits right in the dashboard compartment. It fits my needs perfectly. November 9, 2012
Great Little Camera! We have sereral of these Coolpix cameras at our shop. They take good quick photos. October 12, 2012
Great Quality! I love this camera! It is perfect, small, and its cute! It can record really long and it is easy to download on your computer! It takes around 1 hour to upload on Youtube but it is worth the wait to see the great quality on camera! September 30, 2012
Great camera Used it for a few days now. Love the simplicity. Wish the manual was more detailed or the tutorials were available. I had panorama options on a competitor model which were simple and provided on camera instructions. I am still trying to figure out how to do the same on this camera. This has the 360 panorama view which the other camera did not. The pet portrait feature is excellent. One touch HD video is great. Has many features that I have not explored yet. Overall - great buy for occasional photographer who wants professional results. September 1, 2012
wow! its great ,easy to use and smarter pics i have bought it last week its nice with many features the night mode photos are marvellous it has good HD recording i recommend it to everyone August 31, 2012
Great camera, just purchased... My husband bought me this last week to take to a concert for great photos. I had a cheap digital camera and this one is way better. It takes very clear shots and is easy to use. I wish it had come with a case though. I'll have to spend 40 dollars to get a case for it. The movie recorded great at the concert. I'd say that this camera is pretty cool.. August 8, 2012
Affordable and Good Quality Camera! This camera takes really nice photos, and is great for it's price. Previous to this I had the S3000, and this camera is much better. (Nicer quality photos, faster in storing images, seems a bit sturdier) August 4, 2012
wonderful this camera contains all options that i want and it provides me special photos. July 27, 2012
Small, handy and easy to carry I love Nixon Coolpix cameras, I would not dream of buying anything else. July 23, 2012
Just great!!! I just bought this camera and I love it, its easy to handle, it's nice, I used to have a sony cybershot but I want something different, the price is great for an amazing product ... July 5, 2012
Great Little Camera This is a nice camera. It fits in my shirt pocket, I carry it horseback riding. It is light weigh. Very quick to start up and ready to take another picture. I charges quickly. My pictures come out quite well. Even when the horse won't stand still for me. July 4, 2012
compact with a lot of zoom i actually bought the camera right before my husband and i went to the toby keith concert. i forgot i needed to get a memory card so i was only able to take 11 pictures at the concert with the internal memory. we sat a little ways away from the stage but the zoom allowed me to get great pictures of toby keith and thomas rhett. this was the best investment we made. June 23, 2012
If you know digital then you can get this picture ready immediately. Opened the box, put the battery in the camera, attached the ac adapter to the USB port on the adapter and camera and plugged it in to charge. Two hours later, only because I got busy doing something else, I removed the camera turned it on and started shooting pictures. Nikon makes it really simple to take good pictures and I love the small palm size of the camera. The programming frames single or multiple subjects. Love that feature. The flash works with the light available so you do not get washout of the photo. And the zoom is awesome. It works just like the zoom lenses on the expensive digital cameras and brings things in real close and clear. Thank you Nikon. I was away from you to long, but I am back now for good. June 18, 2012
Great Point and Shoot! We wanted a great point and shoot digital camera that takes great pics and didn't require much camera knowledge on our part. The two main things we wanted in a new digital camera was that it needed to take great pics in low level lighting and take clear action shots (i.e. sports). We are very pleased with this camera and the cost. May 11, 2012
Great camera! I got the black S3300, love the looks, the size, the clarity of the LCD, the ease of use with simple to understand button layout, lightweight, and rugged. Perfect camera under $150. April 21, 2012
Una gran cámara Es una cámara fantástica, muy divertida, con una definición tanto en imágenes como en vídeo increíbles. La recomiendo. December 21, 2012
Small camera, good quality.! I love this camera, I've had since 2012 Christmas. It is absolutely amazing! I have taken a lot of pictures and I am an up coming photographer. I would really like it if it would have an option to make pictures stay still, like another camera I owned. Overall, I think it's great though.!! January 21, 2013
Stunning professional-looking photographs I have had this camera for almost a month now and I simply have to review this! Advantages: The physical features of it is amazing. Simple, elegant, compact and light: all the features you need in a compact camera. It is very easy to carry about. I love the 1-click video thing. All I have to do is click the button and tadah! It starts recording immediately! It takes really good high-quality videos and for a longer time too! The pictures are also very nice to look at. The 'scene mode' thing really helps with taking different kinds of photos too. And the fact that you can actually save photos in the 'favorites' folder is cool too. You can even instantly edit it in the camera which helps a lot. Add filters, some touch-ups here and there, etc etc. Disadvantages: There aren't many disadvantages though but I noticed a few. The zoom doesn't really take clear photos and for people who want professional results, you will be slightly disappointed about this. If you aren't looking for maximized professional results, you might not even notice it. Another thing is that, it takes a longer time for it to load when you click. This truly annoys me and I'm not even sure why. Besides that, all of it is quite good and I have even uploaded some pictures here for reference. October 18, 2012
many features The camera works well under normal circumstances. It has problem focusing at the maximum zoom setting. Also even though it lists many scene modes I have to figure out to acess them. I went to the tutorial on the web site and it plays for a few seconds and shuts down.So I decided.to download the manual and halfway through the printing it stopped. Can I get aprinted instruction book? June 7, 2012
Camera is new but seems very easy to operate. Everything seems great about this camera except the View NX 2 software disk will not load on my or my husbands laptop computer although it loaded on my desktop just fine. All are 64 bit windows 7 computers. April 26, 2012
Muito boa câmera Consegui tirar uma foto nítida da Lua aplicando o zoom no máximo. July 24, 2013
Decent camera but the packaging was a joke I bought this camera for my daughter who is an 8 year old camera nut. She loves to take pictures and this is a great small camera with decent resolution. However, someone from Nikon should try opening the package. Even with heavy duty scissors it was a joke. I cut my hand on the darn plastic packaging and it was ridiculous. Understand that you need to build it so that people don't steal it, but I think there has to be an easier way. SO, I would not buy another Nikon product until you fix the packaging. Tired of replacing the Band-Aids on my hand! December 25, 2012
It works, but has its problems This camera has too many professional features for a point and shoot camera. It may be a good pocket camera for a professional photographer to keep handy in case the airlina has misplaced his real equipment. The average user will not likely use more than 5% of all those features. As a point and shoot camera it has one glaring fault: the little red button on the upper right hand side of the back panel, the one that starts the movie feature. Can this be disabled?. In the first weeks, I produced more movie snippets of floortiles and grass than views I actually wanted. February 2, 2013
Poor Instructions! I'm just learning how to use this camera. I'm really disappointed with the instruction manual. Very poorly illustrated. Perhaps when I've fumbled my way around the functions....the manual will make more sense! October 6, 2012
Disappointed. I just got this camera for my birthday and was very disappointed. I cannot get good close-up shots even with the macro setting in a variety of light levels. The image quality is poor and it is not very stable. I have always had Canon cameras and now I've learned my lesson - I'm returning it and getting a Canon. I love the style, weight, and awesome purple color, but if I can't get good pictures, the nice look is useless. June 30, 2012
Good size difficult to operate Camera is difficult to operate and very slow between shots. Unable to download pictures to windows 8. Nikon refuses to help. May 30, 2013

Answer:
I never changed mine, but with these newer Coolpix cameras I actually don't use autoflash that much. I set the ISO on 200 for outside and 400 for indoors. It seems to work out well.

This answer was speedy but useless!

Looking at tests posted on the web, the optimum ISO would appear to be 100 or 200.

I bought this camera to have in my pocket to take snapshots for the web. It is more than adequate for that purpose.

For serious photography I use Canon digitals and L series lenses.

Answer:
Please reset the camera: MENU > SETUP > RESET ALL. Also, verify the settings that you have for Image Mode (seepage # 60 of the user's manual) and make sure you are using an approved memory card for the COOLPIX S3300 (see page # 19).

I really like the 720p quality for what I film. Only problem is its 8 minutes compared to 28 minutes on low quality. With a 32gb SDHC card I know I can film and refilm for many hours. I just want to know, is it possible to increase the HD time longer than 8 minutes and 11 seconds to about 30 minutes like the lowest setting?
