Can't beat the price! I just received the AF-S DX Nikkor 55-200mm 4-5.6 refurbished lens and used it for the first time this past weekend. A good companion to the 18-55mm 1.8-5.6. I primarily do portraits, but also enjoy documentary shots. The lens gives a feeling of being able to reach out and touch someone, even if at a distance. Light weight, and easy to use. I was also going to purchase a hood and lens bag, but to my surprise, the lens came with both. With a name like Nikon, I felt comfortable purchasing a refurbished lens. How could I go wrong. At present time I can't afford to fork out too much and so "Thanks Nikon". You made it possible. October 3, 2011
excellent deal This refurbished lens by Nikon is an exceptional deal and value . The lens focus is fast and accurate It looks like brand new . Came with lens pouch and the hood . also has a 90 day warranty by nikon great value September 29, 2011

Answer:
how big? about 2-3 exposure values, that's how big it is, especially at longer focal lengths. it lets you shoot handheld in situations where it would just blur otherwise.

Answer:
I do not see the "VR" switch on it, so I would say it is non-VR. I don't have any non-VR lens, so can not tell you the difference, but I would say, it is helpful to have in certain situations.

Answer:
Hi Anon,

Yes, this lens will work just fine on the D7000, as will the other non-S series Autofocus lenses.

Enjoy your D7000, I own one too and it's simply amazing.

My lens seems to have significant aberration. Is it possible the lens is defective or is it a normal amount.

Came with my recently purchased Nikon D5000. In the image uploaded, red/cyan aberration is present and noticeable in the trees on the left side of the pic. Nef files are not supported so the file uploaded is a jpg of the processed image.
