Two lenses in one
Huge amounts of coma and lateral aberrations make images veiled and soft wide open (think of cheap popular plastic-lens cameras). At f2 the lens sharpens up a bit. From f2.8 to f5.6 it has high contrast and good resolution - would never guess it's the same lens.
Note - on film the aberrations at f1.4 are not nearly as objectionable and difficult to work with.
Classic brass construction is fantastic.
Waiting for computer contacts and silent wave motor in this.
Dreading that it will be remade with a plastic body and a massive price tag.

Is there a specific setting I have to use before I put it on? Or will it just work with the manual settings?
