SMALL AND SOLID WORKS ON ANY NIKON NEW OR OLD I have had this lens since it first came out ,great glass the D3 series allows me to program this lens into the camera.I like this lens when my f 2.8 zooms are too bulky. One poor aspect the sunshade March 2, 2012
Excellent build quality I purchased this lens instead of the AF version because I believe it is a better quality lens and fits my shooting style better. Manual focusing is not a problem for me and I feel that the operation of the aperture ring as well as overall build quality is better on this lens. At present I use it with a D200 with which it makes a good combination. I am also very pleased with the optical quality. The lens is sharp with excellent color rendition. With the D200 it is equivalent to a 30mm lens. April 1, 2011
Better than the AF version It has better sharpness and better color rendition than the AF-D version. Better construction, will last longer. Very difficult to find the lens hood for this lens. August 16, 2010
