MB-D200 Multi-Power Battery Pack
Balance and ease
Have been using this grip for sometime and love the fact that I do not have to search for the controls. Love the extra speed and long battery life. Helps balance my 70-200vr

Still going strong
Just checked my invoices. Bought one on Aug '08 and the other on Oct '08. Both have given me total satisfaction despite years of abuse. All buttons and wheels work fine and I haven't had problems with the latches.

Love the grip, great for all day photography
I've used vertical grips from film cameras to digital. This grip can run a camera for a weekend in the wild, or a three-day vacation. If for some reason the two EL batteries go dead, I can stop at any store and buy 6 AA alkaline or Energizer Lithium Ultimate batteries and keep shoot for days. Well worth the price, no problem with door latch after four years like other reviewer. I always carry gaffe tape just in case, as things can break when you don’t want it. NIKON should beef up this latch.

Be careful when using the compartment latch.
The latch on the battery compartment is flimsy and will break off after many openings and closings. "How long before it breaks??" Well, calculating my usage as normal (I use my camera 15 days out of the month), from my experience it will break in about 3 months.
I used black tape to keep the compartment closed - It is a very small latch and could be replaced easily - if it was sold separately.
I now use an external battery source.

In Theory....Great...Construction??? Mmmm, not so much
I really enjoyed the balance, controls, and extra battery life that it provides HOWEVER the latching mechanisms holding the batteries in, as well as the mechanism that holds the door closed, are very poorly made and broke. I do recommend the product but only if you understand that you have to be very delicate with it.
