Absolutely loved this camera! I have owned many cameras in the past, and this camera has definitely been my favorite. It lasted me a little over two years. I am now in the process of looking for a new one, and it is hard to find one that matches the quality of this one. August 14, 2011
This Camera IS DA BOMB i absolutely love this camera the resolution is amazing and my videos come out great it is a truly great camera October 14, 2010
Best Little Camera I've Ever Owned I bought this camera specifically for my deployment to Iraq over a year ago and I returned a little over a month ago with this camera still in excellent cosmetic and operational condition. It was purchased as a bundle with a case, 4GB SD Card, and an extra battery for a great deal/price. I used it extensively in Iraq throughout the dust and sand storms without any issues or problems and always got great pictures from it regardless of light conditions with the "Auto" settings. The camera also has manual settings for more advanced users, which I am not. The details captured in the 10MP photos are unbelievable when zoomed in on a computer that would normally be too small to notice. The 5x optical zoom is excellent and the additional digital zoom is also pretty good with stable picture results, thanks to the Optical VR Image Stabilizer. The settings and options are easy to navigate through with some practice. I would suggest taking the time to experiment with all the different features and settings as “film for this camera is cheap” (SD/SDHC card). The video mode on the camera is mediocre, but then again, this is a “still” picture camera – not a true video camera. So, for those who want great video, I suggest purchasing an actual “video” camera. This camera is packed with all kinds of settings and features that were previously unavailable in these small compact cameras only a few years ago. I’m very happy with this “combat veteran” camera and look forward to using it for years to come. July 20, 2010
great camera i really like it and it really takes way good photos i ever seen you should try this camera out you will like it July 19, 2010

I had to order a backup battery so when I drain my stock battery I can keep shooting. The repacement looks exactly the same as the stock one (the EN-EL 11) but it says it is 1300 mAh instead of the EN-EL 11's 680mAh (it is still 3.7V). Will this work with the camera and charger or do I have to get one that is 680 mAh? Thanks.

Answer:
Be sure to use Nikon genuine battery. 1300 mAH has nothing to do with the 3.7V. It only decides how long battery can keep the camera running. 1300 mAH battery will run almost twice of 680 mAH battery provided the voltage is same & it is used in the same camera.

I have had my camera (Nikon Coolpix S560) for almost two years. I really enjoy this camera and was just wondering if this is something that is easily fixed, or is it not worth it and I should just purchase a new one? It allows me to take a picture, however I do not know what I am taking a picture of because the screen is black - and after I play it back to view the photos I have taken, the ones that displayed black when I took them are still black.

This model seems to have slower shutter speed especially in dim light. Hopefully the new firmware is able to resolve it.

Answer:
Slower shutter speed is par for the course im affriad its the way it works, it has to have a slower shutter to allow more light in in poorly lit conditions, having faster shutter speed would only cause your images to be dark, no amount of frimware can solve this. Only thing you can do if possible is to turn your iso up, this will give a faster shutter speed but on the downside your are increasing the chances of noise, you need to find a happy medium, alas most p&s's struggle in low light.

Nikon Transfer recognizes the camera but shows 0 photos on the camera. Windows Explorer (XP) also will not show the contents of the camera. I've also tried taking the SDHC card out and putting that in the card reader on my computer and it still won't recognize anything. Is this an issue with the card? I can take new photos just fine and all showup in playback mode on the camera.

Answer:
Remove the memory card from the camera and take pictures so they can be store into the internal memory of the camera. Make sure that you are using approved memory cards.

I keep trying to take photos using the flash on various different settings but the Flash Lamp is constantly flashing indicating I need to wait a few seconds because the flash is charging - so I wait and try again, then wait and try again etc but is still doesn't wok?!?!? What is going on? Every now and again it does work, but more often not. Can anyone help with this?
