Grate camera for someone that is having fun
My brother just got me this camera and so far i think is very good, practical, slim, easy menus, and the pictures are great! Im not a professional, so the camera i normally use has to make most of the effort for me in taking good pictures of my daily life. love the panoramics, and the macropictures! the zoom is awseome!

Great Potential but has Major Issue
I've had my Nikon S9200 now for a couple of months. While I am not a "professional" photographer that makes a living with my photos, I am a certified multi-media expert and web technologist and am familiar and experienced with much more complex cameras (DSLRs and pro video cameras) than the S9200. Since purchasing the S9200 I've taken a few trips and have shot hundreds of photos - all in AUTO mode. The camera is easy to set up and its menus are straightforward and easy to understand (at least for me). The majority of shots I've taken have been acceptable, a few have been quite good. What I find to be a major issue with this camera is its ability to focus and maintain focus: When taking a photo, pressing lightly on the shutter button tells the camera to begin its focus. Even in AUTO Focus mode the camera seems to have issues with achieving focus and then maintaining that focus. In low light, with a camera in this price range one would expect some issues with focus, but this camera seems to have a focus issue even in broad daylight which is quite remarkable. For example, I just came back from a trip where I took 100+ photos, most of which were out of doors, in beautiful sunlight with no zooming, and for some bizarre reason around 5% of these shots are not focused (and I used a tripod), while the remaining ones are in focus. Even more confusing, of these 100+ shots, many are indoors and even though I had the flash turned off, they are in focus - just the opposite of what you'd expect ! Further, when zooming in partially, focusing is even more difficult and when fully zoomed in on a subject focusing under any lighting conditions seems impossible. In macro mode, which allows you to get really close to a subject, focusing seems to be no better than in non-macro mode. I have to be upfront and say that prior to purchasing this model I read over 100 reviews and focusing was clearly an issue in many of the reviews, but I purchased the camera any how. Most of the time the focus does work and the camera is capable of taking some wonderful shots but one doesn't get a sense of security that the focus will work with this camera. Two additional and really annoying issues with this camera is the case design: 1) the pop-up flash is at the top left of the camera and you are likely to place your hand over it when taking a shot to hold the camera and that will prevent the flash from popping up when needed, and 2) a small compartment located on the right side (when looking at the camera from the back) is used to access the USB and HDMI ports and is covered by a flap; when this flap is in place to cover the ports area it is almost impossible to open. When this flap is in place it becomes part of the case and there's no tactile area or "hook" on it to grab on to - you will be fiddling with it for quite some time to open it to get at the USB and HDMI ports - and I guarantee that you will be tempted, as I am, to rip off this plastic cover ! On the plus side, the internal battery seems to keep a charge forever, the camera is compact and solidly built and has a large and bright viewing screen. It accepts standard sized SDHC cards as its memory to store your images on, so even if you have an issue with getting to the USB port, you can remove the SDHC card and plug the card into your PC to read directly (and it's faster than reading from the USB off the camera). I also took a few video shots and the quality is quite good but for some reason there was no sound ! While this camera is capable of some really great shots, considering that many reviews for the camera mention focusing as an issue, if you're the least concerned and don't want to have to edit your shots in Photoshop which is what I have to do on certain shots to restore focus, select a different model or make.

It's not a bad camera, it's very easy to use and you can take good pictures with it,but there is not so much options to set exposure (there isn't at least a manual mode). By the price, I expected this camera to be better.
If you want a camera just to take some pictures in a easy way, this isn't a bad opition. But, if you like photography and think the camera doesn't take pictures, you take them, so I recommend you buy another at the same price range.
