why are photos transfered from s3200 to computer distorted? Images are elongated lengthwise and compressed widthwise.

Photos going to both FSpot and Shotwell through Ubuntu, although otherwise accurate to image on camera, were very definitively distorted. Objects within the frame appear elongated lengthwise and compressed widthwise.

I switched computers and am now sitting here unable to see that lil program pop up where it shows my battery charge and lets me export the pictures .... which software was that and how do I download that again?

My Nikon Coolpix s3200 randomly lost a bunch of pictures though they still appear to be using up space. When I try to use recovery programs they won't find the camera because it doesn't show as an external drive

Within the COOLPIX S3200, there are no options that will allow the camera to run as an external drive on Windows 7.
