I know generally you would through a 3.5mm audio jack. Can you use the mini HDMI instead?

I've had my Coolpix for less than a week, have used it a few times, mostly just getting familiar with the camera. So far so good, happy with how it works, photos, etc. The last time I went to use it, the light on the on/off button came on, and stayed on, but the camera didn't turn on (no chime, screen didn't come on, and the lens didn't extend). I tried pulling and resetting the batteries (indicator showed full) and had same behavior, so I tried fresh batteries as well. Same thing. Although the camera remains off, the only way to get the on/off light to go out is to pull the batteries and reseat them (pressing on/off button does nothing). Once it's off, and the on/off button is pressed again, the cycle starts again.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I ordered Sandisk Extreme 8GB SDHC Class 10 High performance memory card, but the card I got says "HD VIDEO" on it. Not the same

My wife is currently using this camera at a conference. She just called and said the zoom swtich (near the shutter button) is stuck and will not move. She can still zoom with the side zoom feature. Does this camera have a zoom lock that could have gotten hit accidentally, or does this sound like a defect? Any suggestions?

When starting a video, the auto focus doesn't work I think. Because the video is a little fuzzy. BUT if I start zooming it regains focus. As if autofocus doesn't kick in from the start and zooming helps it work.
Is this something that will be fixed in a future firmware? Or is there any setting that would help this go away?

Batteries are new....auto off feature set to 5 minutes. sleep mode is off. coolpix l120

Is there any way to natively store photos by date? That is, instead of keeping all photos in the root 100NIKON folder can it be stored in separate folders with date names like this:
100NIKON > 2011-08-20
100NIKON > 2011-08-21
...

I cannot seem to get the Pet Portrait to function. What am I doing wrong??? I have the CoolPix L120 Camera.

I take a lot of closeup pictures, especially of the jewelry I make. Does this camera take clear stationary closeup photos that are focused and unfocused from the backround? And how are closeup photos of moving objects (like my pet dog)? Thanks!
Also, when taking pictures of landscapes, if zoomed in all the way, are the photos stil clear or are they blurry/grainy?

I love my new Coolpix L120, but am confused about why the flash does not work in the EASY AUTO MODE. If I switch to the AUTO MODE, the flash works fine. Is the EASY MODE only for use in daylight?

My previous question was not properly understood. With the camera set to EASY AUTO MODE and the flash raised, it never fires in dark situations. If I change the setting to AUTO MODE, the flash works perfectly. Is the EASY AUTO MODE on the L120 only to be used in daylight, or is my camera malfunctioning since the flash will not fire.

I have been to a few indoor birthday parties now and I cannot use the party/indoor mode on my camera. Anytime I use that mode ALL of my pictures are blurred even when I take a picture of a still object. Why do all of the pictures come out completely blurry? I have tried turning the flash on and off and it does not make a difference either way. What is the party/indoor mode for if I cannot take pictures at a party? I do not understand what I could possibly be doing wrong.

My battery indicator does not work properly. I have been using my camera for about a month now and my battery indicator always show full and never decreases. Yesterday when I turned on my L120 it showed "batteries exhausted" even though indicator showed full. Then of course the camera shut off because the batteries were dead. Why doesn't the battery status indicator work?
