LOVE IT! I've had this camera for a while now and I LOVE IT. April 27, 2012
Best camera for a beginner/amateur like me. Although the megapixel and optical zoom is low when compared with the same price range but its image quality is very great Used it for light painting and exposure photos, great quality too! Having fun exploring it February 10, 2012
Excellent camera I am pretty happy with my camera. This is a compact camera, easy to carry everywhere, particularly for long trips. Manual setting are great for a small camera. I would totally recommend it! February 7, 2012
Very good allround performance although small sensor. As a hobbyst and owner of good compacts from Canon, Panasonic, Fuji, Olympus, etc., i was atracted specially by the fast lens of this camera. Noise is very low. The results are really very good in terms of sharpness, colour reproduction, etc. The possibility to take great pictures whithout flash is amazing - you can simply forget the camera has a pop-up flash. Overall is a very good allday camera, and turned in the last times my preferred, even against my excellent Canon S95. Only the zoom range could be a little larger in the upper end. January 24, 2012
Small package big results I bought this camera for only two reasons, it's size and it's ability to shoot in low light and it does those two things exceptionally well. I have other Nikon cameras with longer lenses and more functions, however they are larger and more of a burden to carry so I would find myself setting them down especially at social functions, however, this is where I wanted my camera the most but did not need a long lense . The P300 is not much bigger than a deck of playing cards and now I move my camera from my hand to my pocket so it is always with me when I want it. The P300 ability to shoot in low light is amazing and most of the time a flash is not needed which solves many red eye issues. December 26, 2011

Answer:
Think of a RAW file as being a negative, much like film had a negative. It needs to be processed to get the best out of it with the likes of View NX 2 or Capture NX 2. RAW files can be quite big and it puts a lot of people off because of this, but there is much to be gained from using raw files.

I wish it will have a better algorithm for image stabilization when in video...why is the other big brand P&S image stabilization in video so much better? As for raw, if it gets rid of the pixel blooming i see at 100% zoom in all pictures (noticed on edges, see pic), I wouldn't mind the extra processing. I still cant get over how amazing the performance of the camera is in dark environments without a flash when in night landscape mode!

I have been doing my research in order to go for the canon s100 or this nikon p300. I know on the specs section they state this is 1080p... but I read somewhere that canon s100 has better video.

In case they are the same quality i ll be definitely purchasing the nikon since I dont see reason to pay $150+ for the canon which i think is overpriced just because the momentum its on

When the battery is fully charged there's no indicator. The battery level indicator will appear on the Top left corner of the screen showing a battery half full, this means its low and you need to prepare to charge it. Once the battery runs out of charge you will get a message on the screen "Battery Exhausted" and you won't be able to take more pictures.

I would like to use the auto timer function on my P 300 while digiscoping. I need the timer to work while in shutter and aperture priority mode. But the timer will only function with the camera set to the Auto Program function. This doesn't seem right. Is there a way to remedy this situation.
Thank you.

Answer:
The Self-Timer feature works fine while the camera is set to P, A, S, and M. Please press the Self-Timer button and it will give you 4 options: 10s, 2s, Smile Timer, and Off.
