You pay for what you get. The camera was easy to use but got spoilt in the 1st month it was bought. I will not spend my money on it again

very unsatisfying customer service,
too fragile, easily damaged, and impersonal customer service person

A Nikon product should be much better
I am not at all satisfied with the camera. It takes great pictures but here it is a brand new camera and the zoom does not work. Nikon quality control should be a lot better. Also the Nikon software does not recognize that the camera is attached to the computer through the USB port.
No Nikon's in this family's future.

Not hapy with this camera at all.
My parents bought this for me as a Christmas present after my old digital camera broke. This just seems to be very ...hmm...poor quality. The lighting NEVER looks right. Its normally an akward yellow tone in artificial lighting, and outside it sometimes acts up as well. Also it is extremely delayed when pressing the capture button. Sometimes it goes right away and other times I have to press it 2 to 3 times. Frustration to the max.

Bad focus
This camera is pretty bad in terms of focus. What I don't get is that it appears to be focused in the viewfinder, but the image taken after isn't. Also, it almost always takes forever to take a shot, which is bad because my hobby involves taking pictures of moving objects and vehicles. It appears to have a mind of its own and only works when it wants to. I've had some experience with a Nikon D40 DSLR and I have to say that it was awesome working with it, and I assumed all Nikon cameras were of great quality, but I am heavily disappointed with this camera and now I'm thinking twice about purchasing another Nikon in general...

I did not like this camera at all! The focus was awful and it takes everything a long time to load. There are a lot better cameras for the same amount of money!

Disappointed
I wanted a small camera to take with me. I trusted the Nikon name. None of the photos taken with this camera are clear. There is no excuse for Nikon to produce a camera with such poor quality. I used to be proud to own a Nikon, not now.

I have had this camera for 6 months. The battery cover just quit working because of a broken piece of plastic. I sent it to Nikon for warranty repair. They refused. Said it was not a manufacturers defect. Beware! Lousy customer service.

Answer:
Unless you have purchased aftermarket batteries for your L24, they are not rechargeable.....they are everyday AA's.......that is the beauty of this camera.....inexpensive batteries and memory, that are available anywhere! Even rechargeable AA's are inexpensive, and available everywhere.......Apr 13, 2011 by

Answer:
The L24 does not have a built-in rechargeable battery. If you were using NiMH type rechargeable AA batteries, most will self-discharge in between 1 and 3 months, and will need to be recharged periodically, even if they are not used.Mar 23, 2011 by

I purchased a Clamshell underwater housing for my L24 it is rated for a maximum depth of 130 feet---I also purchased a double handle frame setup for it from beneath the Surface and a video light from Light & Motion the sola 600 total investment was 1100.00--took entire rig to the Dominican Republic in November for a 35 day stay at Caribbean dive college in El Cortecito, first time out took it to 29 feet on top of a coral reef at Catalina Island DR and shot stills. used the sports setting and turned off flash, the pictures are beautiful--then proceeded down to 98 feet, no problems, more great hotos. 2nd dive was in 45 feet of water on the other side of Catalina Is. used same setting---got lots of colrful coral shots. adjusted the red back in with photoshop, also adjusted the white balance using the computer. a week later set the camera for photo mode and entered a freshwater cave and shot about 65 photos in 25 minutes. learned that you need to stabilize yourself more in clear water. some of the shots were blurry from motion. a week later returned to same cave and used video mode and shot a very clear beautiful video 25 mins long another two 13 mins long and a video above water at a coffee plantation... I have since gone and bought two more L24's because they are on special at 79.00 each at best buy and I like the cameraSample Photos & Videos

Only if you put it in some form of underwater housing.
my $50 card from my Broken Sony won't fit. The $100 disposable Sony "Point & Cicks" break every year, so I just re-use the flash card over and over. The Camera guy at Best Buy said the Nikon won't break, but now, do I need to spend another $50 to get a different card? The internal Nikon memory only holds two or three pictures. that's crazy!

Sony cameras take a different type of flash memory, MemoryStick Pro vs SDHC. While the slot appears to be the same one is not compatable with the other.Sep 4, 2011 by
