COOLPIX L24 3.2 5 113 113
Very cool !!! I had purchased Nikon Coolpix after doing some research online, since I am a travel agent,I need something easy to use with good features--I went on a trip to Jamaica, and I had my camera with me--I was able to get a shot of a sunset directly using the sunset/dawn feature that they have on picture settings--it came out perfect !! I also like the fact that I can also shoot some video with this camera also-which does come in very handy. Overall, this is a good camera, and very easy to use !!! November 11, 2011
This camera effortlessly takes great pictures It is amazing that this small camera takes such sharp pictures with very little or no adjustments. The pictures and video have great color and are very sharp. You can pick this camera up and immediately start taking pictures. Love it! November 11, 2011
Great clarity, easy to use. The resolution of the pictures is awesome. It is very easy to use, and to download images to my computer. I would highly recommend this camera to others. November 1, 2011
Excellant I really love this camera. This is the 2nd digital I owned and it is so much easier to use then the other I had (different brand). The pictures come out great. Could not be happier with it. I recommend this camera to anyone. October 28, 2011
Top Notch! Though relatively inexperienced with digital photography when I acquired the L24, it is absolutely EVERYTHING that the product claimed it would be. Picture quality is unexceled when compared to anything NEAR its price range, ease of use is excellent (even for a non-expert like me) -- I don't believe you could expect more from any camera any where close to its price. October 14, 2011
Great camera for a novice camera user. Camera is simple to understand and use, I especially like the zoom feature. The pics taken with it are clearer than I got with my other camera! October 5, 2011
I love my camera. It is small. Takes great pics. This little camera is light, takes great pictures. Put in sans disk 4GB, I can take over 850 pictures. That is more than enough pictures for any vacation. I love it. Thanks. September 30, 2011
good camera This camera was to replace my L10 that was wearing out. (It worked well on its own) The L24 has a nicer zoom button on the top, like a camcorder. The resolution of the videos and the pictures is very good. Thanks for making a good camera for the money. September 8, 2011
Another Fine Product I bought this camera to replace my old Coolpix L10, which finally stopped working. I looked at several different brands of compact digital cameras and compared features, for the price it can't be beat. September 4, 2011
Love everything about the camera The size is perfect as are the pictures. So easy to upload to my laptop and then share with friends and family September 2, 2011
this is an excellent camera, very clear picture reliable. September 2, 2011
I always get a Coolpix. This is the best! I love the ease of use, the features, and quality of the pictures August 6, 2011
Great quality for the price. I needed a quick fix because my previous digital had broken, so I picked up the cheapest digital I could find, this being it. I'm almost glad my older camera broke. The quality is really good for a $100 price. And it has a multitude of settings. It's really a great buy. August 5, 2011
Easy Set up was quick and easy. I was shooting pictures in less than a minute. I have taken over 100 pictures since yesterday when it arrived. I had only 5 that had to be deleted because at the extreme zoom level my hand shakes to bad for the auto focus to get a sharp photo. at ext ream zoom I need to use my tripod. No problems so far. I use the 16:9 resolution almost exclusively. August 5, 2011
Love Nikon I own many other Nikon cameras, ie D80, D500 and N90 etc but this is a nice purse camera for those quick shots August 5, 2011
A great camera for a great price! I received this camera for my birthday. I love it, it's quality of pictures and easy use is fantastic. I am very impressed! July 29, 2011
Simply great! Simply great! Simple, but dynamic. Lightweight, yet versatile. A camera that fits in a pocket, but it takes some great photos. Easy to use with almost professional results. If you want to save special memories or memorable events, I recommend this Nikon Coolpix, the L24. July 24, 2011
Has a lot of nice features I havent used this camera much,as I just got it , Its a replacement for the L22 that I broke the latch on.I was very happy with that camera and used it a lot so when I had to replace it ,I stayed with the same company. July 9, 2011
Pictures are fabulous! The ease with which I can take perfect pictures and the beauty of the pictures are just outstanding. Never before have I had a camera I have been so pleased with in such a short time. I am planning a vacation in Europe for August and I can hardly wait to get back home and share the picturesque places I visited. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to brag on my purchase. June 24, 2011
great little camera takes pix just as good and some better than my full size camera(not a nikon). only complaint i have and it's only minor that the batteries and card are in the same compartment. but other than that i would definitely recommend this camera. get it you will not be sorry. June 24, 2011
so far so good Wonderful red color. Replaced my Other camera as its screen cracked. Easy to use. Tomorrow nephews graduation. Should no more by than. June 10, 2011
affordable, love the AA batteries I bought this camera about three years ago for an adoption trip to China. I loved it! and have had great success, even though I am not a talented photographer or a techie. One of my favorite things about it is that it uses AA batteries. My friends' cameras "die" when they are on an outing, but I can just pop in some new AAs and we're good to go. My daughter received this camera for Christmas and loves it. I just LOST mine on a volunteer trip in China, and am disappointed that it no longer comes in the color brown, but will buy another one anyway! May 13, 2011
NIKON COOLPIX L24 GREAT LITTLE CAMERA--EASY TO USE AND VERY GOOD RESOLUTION--MUCH BETTER THAN MY CANON--LOVE THIS LITTLE SWEETHEART OF A CAMERA! May 13, 2011
Great pics, user friendly! Beautiful pictures and quite easy to use!! I love the fact that it uses AA batteries. No need to worry about having to charge batteries or take a charger along with you. I wish that the camera would not go back to the default setting to use automatic flash, when I turn it back on. This is not that much of an inconvenience though, it is easy enough to click off the flash. :D May 13, 2011
The Best Camera!!! I bought this camera for my birthday celebration. WOW, the pictures came out great, I liked every single picture. I am so happy that I bought myself a great gift. May 12, 2011
Nice camera This is a very nice camera for the price. I get clear sharp pictures even in low light. The AA batteries are a good feature, because I'm not always where I can recharge the battery. It took awhile to get used to the half push on the shutter release, but the auto focus is very accurate. May 7, 2011
Fantastic camera This camera was a gift two years ago AND if any picture is blurry it is only my fault. The camera is absolutely the best camera I have ever had. Takes micro pictures up to 4 inches perfectly. I use my pictures in PhotoShop all the time; e-mail beautiful pictures, print beautiful pictures; clear, sharp beautiful pictures when I demonstrate in group PhotoShop club on a 48" monitor. Love, love love it. I do not know what I could want more for my level of photography. May 7, 2011
nice product this is a very good camera at a reasonable price. it looks nice and creates excellent pictures. the only problem is the page numbers in quick start manual does not match cd-rom numbers. i would still recommend it. May 4, 2011
i bought the camera for our trip across country from fla. to az. on a trike motorcycle. the pics i took while doing 50 mph and faster, for the most part, came out great. some were blurry but that could be attributed to the operator of the camera aka ME lol May 1, 2011
works as advertised My needs are quick and easy photos for real estate requirements which include indoor and outdoor photos of reasonable resolution. Not being a techy and having no artistic talent that is a challenge. The Nikon L24 has proven to be perfect. I get good photos with minimal effort as the auto settings have been great. It's light and dependable too so far. April 29, 2011

Answer:
Unless you have purchased aftermarket batteries for your L24, they are not rechargeable.....they are everyday AA's.......that is the beauty of this camera.....inexpensive batteries and memory, that are available anywhere! Even rechargeable AA's are inexpensive, and available everywhere.......

Answer:
The L24 does not have a built-in rechargeable battery. If you were using NiMH type rechargeable AA batteries, most will self-discharge in between 1 and 3 months, and will need to be recharged periodically, even if they are not used.

Answer:
I purchased a Clamshell underwater housing for my L24 it is rated for a maximum depth of 130 feet---I also purchased a double handle frame setup for it from beneath the Surface and a video light from Light & Motion the sola 600 total investment was 1100.00--took entire rig to the Dominican Republic in November for a 35 day stay at Caribbean dive college in El Cortecito, first time out took it to 29 feet on top of a coral reef at Catalina Island DR and shot stills. used the sports setting and turned off flash, the pictures are beautiful--then proceeded down to 98 feet, no problems, more great hotos. 2nd dive was in 45 feet of water on the other side of Catalina Is. used same setting---got lots of colrful coral shots. adjusted the red back in with photoshop, also adjusted the white balance using the computer. a week later set the camera for photo mode and entered a freshwater cave and shot about 65 photos in 25 minutes. learned that you need to stabilize yourself more in clear water. some of the shots were blurry from motion. a week later returned to same cave and used video mode and shot a very clear beautiful video 25 mins long another two 13 mins long and a video above water at a coffee plantation... I have since gone and bought two more L24's because they are on special at 79.00 each at best buy and I like the camera

my $50 card from my Broken Sony won't fit. The $100 disposable Sony "Point & Cicks" break every year, so I just re-use the flash card over and over. The Camera guy at Best Buy said the Nikon won't break, but now, do I need to spend another $50 to get a different card? The internal Nikon memory only holds two or three pictures. that's crazy!

Sony cameras take a different type of flash memory, MemoryStick Pro vs SDHC. While the slot appears to be the same one is not compatable with the other.
