Great Pictures. Crystal clear pics, and the videos are very clear. I love this camera. Very easy to use. April 30, 2011
OMG!! I have been in the Nikon family for 5 years. I currently have the Nikon d60 and its the best camera but so big. I needed a small camera to put in my pocket and go. This is the best little camera. It is easy to use and very quick response time taking pictures. I have a 4 year old little girl thats always on the move and this little camera stays up with her. Flash is great and the battery life rocks. I thought for the price and size it wouldnt hold up to my big Nikon but i sure does. The 7x optical zoom is great .I would so recomend this little camera. Great price also never hurts but this is truely great little camera... April 25, 2011
Awesome Camera with great HD video recording I have been using this Lovely camera for the last 6 months.. It has given the best possible results in outdoor shoots and the HD video recording is just crystal clear. The 7X zoom really takes gud quality pics even when full zoomed... Indoor pics at night also come out well after adjusting the brightness.. There are no. of functions in the camera which are really easy to use... All in all a must buy in this price range.. Luving it ever since got it... April 18, 2011
Great Camera! Bought this camera a few weeks ago and love it. I took the time to study the manual and all the features and I was snapping excellent pictures in no time. I highly recommend this camera. Just look at this beautiful picture of my granddaughter. April 15, 2011
Best camera ever Too many features to list, because I have never been so pleased with a camera this good, and the clarity of the pictures taken , really excited about this and would recommend it to all of my family and friends. April 13, 2011
Does all I ask. I have several Nikon film and digital SLR's. I needed a camera that I could leave in the glove box, feel comfortable forgetting at a friend's or not worry about having it salt sprayed at the beach. This camera fulfills my needs. It has worked flawlessly over the year that I've had it, and with a little planning, I've never run out of battery or maxed out photo storage. I've been able to set it up so that with the exception of some color saturation it takes photos that nearly match my SLR, and friends can't tell the difference. I've dropped it, and it has survived without harm. I recommend it. April 11, 2011
Amazing I bought a Sony Cyber-Shot w370 ,and i didn't like it when i took a picture because was not clear picture but when i zoom it was clear , and i saw Nikon Coolpix S6000 and i like it and i bought this one ,so i recomend everybody too get this one if they like too take a good and clear picture if they go on vacation..... March 22, 2011
Great Camera for the price Bought this camera because I needed a new camera and knew Nikon was a respected brand. All features on camera is great and easy to use. Takes excellent pictures and does good video recording. So far have taken over 200+ shots and battery life is still good. March 19, 2011
Coolpix6000 is just that COOL! The CoolPix6000 is great, I bought it as a Christmas present for my wife and it has been flawless and really easy to use. So easy in fact my 12 year old daughter shot some really nice pictures of the Iditarod start in freezing tempratures!! no problem. I can see us using this camera for a long time to come. March 5, 2011
EASY AND AMAZING LOVE THE FEATURES! YOU CAN HOLD DOWN THE SHUTTER BUTTON TO TAKE 45 PICS IN A ROW OF SOMETHING MOVING. FRAME BY FRAME ACTION! COMPLETELY CLEAR SHOTS! MY SON IS USUALLY A BIG BLUR IN PICTURES BECAUSE HE CAN'T STOP MOVING-NOT ANYMORE! THE COLOR AND CLARITY IS BEYOND EXPECTED. THE PRICE IS DEFINITELY A STEAL FOR THE QUALITY OF PICTURES. THERE IS NO LAG WHEN TAKING A PICTURE. MENU AND FEATURES ARE VERY EASY TO FIGURE OUT EVEN WITHOUT INSTRUCTIONS. I NOTICED THE FIRST NIGHT OF USE THAT I HOLD THE CAMERA WITH MY FINGER OVER THE FLASH-BUT EASLIY CORRECTED. TOOK A PIC OF MY 1 YEAR OLD AND WHEN I ZOOMED IN ON HER BIG BLUE EYES, YOU COULD SEE THE REFLECTION OF THE CAMERA IN HER IRIS! HAVEN'T HAD ANY LIGHTING ISSUES, WHERE OTHER CAMERAS YOU HAVE TO KEEP ADJUSTING SETTINGS FOR IT TO TAKE A GOOD PICTURE. THIS IS OUR FIRST NIKON AND IT'S A KEEPER! WE TAKE PICTURES EVERYWHERE AND IT CAPTURES EVEN MORE THAN THE EYE CAN SEE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! February 27, 2011
As an insurance inspector for several major US insurance companies one very important element of my job is good photos. The 6000 delivers this and more: I often find that my lighting conditions are not very good especially if there is intense forward light (sunshine). No problem. The D-Lighting feature takes care of this in a flash. Also the camera performs flawlessly in all weather conditions. February 23, 2011
Easy to use, easy to learn Definately a camera that anyone can easily pick up and in a few minutes be taking pictures. It is simple enough to take great pictures for the beginner, but has features to assist the more advanced photographer. Very Happy I bought it. February 20, 2011
just loving this camera everything i needed was in the box didn't need to go back and purchase accessories. The camera is easy to setup and to use and takes great pictures February 19, 2011
This camera is great This is my first Nikon camera, and first digital camera in about 12 years. I've very pleased with the camera and all the features. February 16, 2011
Nice Little Point and Shoot I am a proud Nikon user. I've had my DSLR for quite sometime. We are going on a family vacation soon and wasn't sure I wanted to lug my work-horse around theme parks. The S6000 had the best features for under $200. I love it. Right out of the box the controls are simple and easy to set up. I wish there was a little more control, but overall, it's a great little camera. My husband will be able to take photos for me now, since he was afraid of my "nice" camera. I am really excited about the video option. I haven't had that on my everyday camera since I got my DSRL 3 years ago. February 15, 2011
Camera is simplified for non-experienced users I love my camera! I didn't have to "learn" how to use it at all. I was able to take pictures immediately instead of wasting time trying to figure out how to set the time, date and settings. Everything was common sense. February 6, 2011
Good camera I bought it today. My relative recommended me to buy it. As soon as i buy it took some picture Excellent. I think no one will be disappointed. Future I do not know. My relative use Nikon product blindly do not know why. Let see how it is long run. January 31, 2011
about the coolpix s6000 OMG!!!!! i love this camera the pixs are awesome that you take and the videos come out grrrrrrrreat i would tell everyone to buy this cam for your vacation if you want grrrrrrreat pixs January 29, 2011
Awesome Camera. This Camera is absolutely just wonderful. I can use it whenever and wherever. The Features are just amazing and not once have i regretted getting this camera. January 3, 2011
love the compactness. Really am enjoying this camera! Fits in my purse so well! Would recommend this camera to everyone. January 3, 2011
I was heartbroken when my other camera broke...My husband got me this one for Christmas!..I love, love, love it! January 2, 2011
Shaker No More...Picture Perfect I just started using it, but the pictures are fanstatic. I'm a shaker so I need quick shutter speed and this is the best and easiest camera I have ever owned. Even when the subject moves it gives a crisp picture every time. I can't wait to learn all the features of this camera. December 31, 2010
Great! This is a great camera for the price. The pictures are beautiful and the camera is so simple to use. December 29, 2010
For the money this product cannot be beaten! I first was going to buy the Nikon S4000 but then i saw that for only twenty dollars more i could purchased the S6000 which has a 7x zoom. I could not believe how great the pictures are. Full color, no haze or blur! I had a Kodak camera but was very unhappy with the pictures it took. This is my first Nikon and it will not be my last! Again, the pictures are great! They seem to reach out to you! The zoom is very easy to work and the battery power is great. There is not one bad thing i could say about this camera! Great value! Please trust me and buy this camera if you are thinking about purchasing a camera! You will not be sorry! December 28, 2010
Best ever!!!! I have bought several cameras in my life, as a matter of fact we have 5 different kinds in our house as I speak, from sony, kodak, samsung & Nikon. I just got my new s6000 for christmas, and if you can't take perfect pictures with this camera, you don't need to be using a camera. The other cameras we have take good pictures and each have their own special features that are good, but if you want it all in a compact camera that is easy to use you don't need to look any further than the S6000. It's the perfect compainion to my SLR Nikon D80. December 25, 2010
Very intuitive features….great camera! Opened the box this morning, put the battery and memory card in and started taking great pictures. Very intuitive features….great camera. December 25, 2010
I Love this Camera!!! I've only had the Nikon CoolPix 6000 for a few hours this Christmas morning, but have already shot an entire day's worth of photos, uploaded them and have shared them with friends. The process was so simple.I'm starting to use the video, and some of the other features, too. this camera has so many great features. The pictures are so clear and the camera is so little and convenient to carry. I Love this Camera!!! December 25, 2010
Great camera I have the single lens reflex cameras from Nikon and they are great, however, it is nice to have a quality little camera to carry around in you pocket everyday. December 25, 2010
AMAZING! It maybe to soon to write a review on it, but I received the Nikon Coolpix S6000 as a Christmas gift. I've only had it for one day so far, and I LOVE it! I have not been able to put my camera down all day. Out of the 251 pictures I have taken today, there has NOT been one bad shot. Amazing quality, and I would highly recommend this to someone. I guarantee you will love this camera. December 25, 2010
Great Camera & Wondrful HD Video I bought this camera after I purchased junk that I was told was the best HD video/camera on the market! The other camera would not run on either of my computers-you would need a brand new super computer to load the video and run it! The Coolpix S6000 runs video like a charm and I had no problems running it on both my PC & Laptop. It has 10 times the features the other camera had and HD 720p. Nikon is the "Real Deal" when it comes to Cameras & Video! I luv Nikon! December 20, 2010

Camer has been working just fine. It sat on my desk for the last month and now won't power on. I was assuming the battery went dead so plugged it in all day and still nothing. Now in looking the charge light does not come on when plugged into the charger. Have tried different outlets still no light. Have tried removing the battery and reinserting as well as charging without the memory card. Still nothing, no lights at all and won't power on.

I am having troubles with my camera and charging, I have not charged my camera for about more then a month and when I charged it then it worked fine. I just recently have used my camera again and it was still at half battery life (I don't use my camera to much) so i decided to recharge the battery. when I plugged it into my computer it shows that the power button is lit up like it is charging and shows that it wants to transfer data, but when i unplugged it the next day the battery was still at the same level. Then I tried the charger that came with it to plug in the wall. Even this has not worked when it is on the wall charger my camera shows that it wants to transfer data not charge the power button does not even light up. Then after a day of my camera on the charger to see if it was charging even tho it didn't show it was the battery went totally dead. what could be the problem? I am going out and seeing if i can get a new battery to see if that helps any.

You can find the battery level indicator at the top right corner of the LCD screen. If the battery is fully charge no indicator will be display, battery low the indicator will show a battery half full (prepare to charge it) and battery exhausted will appear when the camera needs a fully recharge battery.

Answer:
I just bought one of these cameras too and was looking for the green light on the charger. I found out the indicator light that shows the charge status is actually on the back of the camera itself. It is next to the upper right corner of the display screen. If I remember correctly, the light flashes green when charging and goes dark once it is fully charged in about 4-5 hours with a dead battery.

You told the previous person who wrote in on this that there is a display on the LCD screen for battery life. Not so on mine. I have had many cameras and they all have the little green battery in the corner that gradually gets less full until it goes red. Not on the S6000. No warning light on this one. It simply gives the error message "battery exhausted" and shuts down. Is this a problem with my particular camera (and the previous person who wrote in)? Do I need to exchange it for a new one? I've been using it since December and this is my only complaint, but to me a big one as this is my "purse camera." This has me not recommending this camera to others.

What is the largest SD SanDisk flash memory card that the camera can support? I'm going on vacation and possibly would want to record some things. Is there a button I can press to take pictures when there is low light so that I can see the picture when I get home? Thanks.

I bought an S6000, new, in Dec of 2010. It has worked beautifully until now. The battery door seems like it is not puting enough pressure on the battery to make contact. If I apply pressure to the door while turning it on, I can get it to work most times, but if I don't, the camera won't turn on. Can this be repaired?
