Compact DSLR This camera made my life amazing! I must say it is no less than a DSLR. I've taken like over a thousand photos and the results are extraordinary! Love you Nikon S6000. July 5, 2012
Love Love Love me some Nikon! I have spent the last 15 years using a Nikon FM10 (fully manual 35mm) and not only has it outlasted any other camer I have ever seen, it also performs like a champ and takes exceptional pictures! When I took the plunge to digital, I did A LOT of research on what the best camera for me would be. I decided on the Coolpix S6000. I couldn't be happier with my choice. Thank you Nikon for never ceasing to amaze me :) July 28, 2011
Love My Nikon I absolutely love my coolpixs 6000! It takes great quality photos and videos. June 16, 2011
The BEST camera! My husband bought me this camera about 9 months ago! I wanted a smaller camera to have on the go since we had a newborn! This camera is honestly the best camera I have ever had! It is great for capturing those special moments with our little one, holidays, weddings, get togethers and everything in between! I recommend this camera for everyone! June 6, 2011
love it the shutter speed is fast, and it has all these scene modes you can quickly choose. May 8, 2011

When I turn my camera on, the lens come out like normal but my screen stays black like it's off. Once the screen went black and white (kind of like static) and then everything was normal. I could take pictures and see them, but about 5 minutes later, it went black again. When the screen is black, I can take a picture and then see it when I put my SD card in my computer. It hasn't been dropped or anything recently, so I can't figure out what's going on.

Answer:
hi
I own s4000 coolpix
the zoom is not fast as lightning for sure,
but for a small point and shoot its nothing
abnormal.
if it takes forever to zoom I would say contact
Nikon service dept. under service and support above
they should be able to tell you if you have s problem or if just normal
speed of point n shoot.
hope this helps

Answer:
The S6000 uses SD (Secure Digital) memory. Memory cards with an SD Speed Class Memory of 6 or faster are recommended for recording movies. Movie recording may stop unexpectedly when memory cards with a lower Speed Class rating are used.
Answer Title: Approved SD Cards - Coolpix S6000
